I was allways a fan of the older stargate series and could watch them over and over, however since Iv'e been watching SGU Ive been developing an irational dislike of both the other shows, dont kill me for saying this but my opinion (as of late) of the first two SG series is that they are... childish. It seems that the serious tone of SGU is having some strange effect on my viewing habits, which sucks because 2 weeks before SGU premiered I bought all the season of SGA and SG1 (also andromeda which is also ruined for me now). Also strange is that I watched the even more seriouse BSG with no effect on my opinion of SG.

Is it just me or is SGU making the older series seem boring for anyone else?
