Spoiler:Though, since Apophis didn't know there was a way off Netu or the planet, would he do that to M/L just for revenge? And why not do it to all of them just in case there was some way for them to be used?

Spoiler:After all, Martouf was programmed to kill the President of the USA and how could Apophis have known about a Tok'ra/Tau'ri Alliance where Martouf would meet him? Apophis had been Sokar's prisoner for a long time so he shouldn't have been capable of knowing anything about the galaxy's state of affairs.Unmade Plans (WIP: 11/20):
Sam's life takes a turn in an unexpected direction when she's faced with an unplanned pregnancy. The decision to keep the baby and raise it on her own will alter her life forever. Relationships are put to the test, especially the one between her and Jack. She doesn't know what to expect from him and he surprises her at every turn.
On FFnet or AO3

Looks like I'm again landing in the minority camp with this one, just like with the previous "Bane" one. I'm not clapping my hands in glee over the Tok'Ra part 1 episode, for me it's just a good show, keeping you intrigued even if a little slow, but nothing outstanding.
It seems to drag for too long, even get boring here and there for a moment. No, I won't deny that it gaves a big huge load of character development, but I remember expecting something bigger to happen constantly when I first saw it.
One thing is for granted here: I'm with Jack 146%. The Tok'Ra might call themselves whatever they wish, but they ARE Goa'Uld, arrogant, selfish, deceptive. The only difference is that they don't call others slaves as often as say Apophis would. I never really liked them, neither felt that there gotta be some kind of a big trust to them for the entire show. There almost always was some catch, starting from the first episode with them.
And knowing how the VFX of the series developed over the years it's always cool to see it from the beginning here, the tunnels never get old
On a side note, when Jack spied on that guy, he babbled nonsense to him. Man, I'd have told that I desperately want to have a leak and don't want to do it in the middle of a corridor so I thought he went to WC.

Did it again -- watched Spirits first, then The Tok'ra. Ah well... doesn't really matter, Spirits is a stand-alone episode anyway.
My goddess, Tok'ra are a bunch of arrogant people, and they seem to be oblivious to it too.
So, Carter finally remembers where they should gate to, to find the Tok'ra and meet up. But of course, it comes back to bite them in the royal behind when the Tok'ra refuse to let them go again, and Carter's dad is dying. How convenient there's always a crisis happening when they get stuck off-world. Dramatic effect, I know, but I can't help be bothered with it, okay.
Nevertheless, the Tok'ra's version of an alliance clearly does not mean the same as ours does and we get stuck at an impasse. In the meantime Carter gets to know Jolinar, Martouf and Lantesh better, and then **** really hits the fan when SG-3 turns up to extract Carter and the Tok'ra show that while they don't want to be called Goa'uld, they lack as much compassion as their evil twins do. They care more for themselves than for others, it seems. I understand, they would be cautious about getting discovered, but come on man... seriously... Have a little heart!
I really like seeing Martouf (and Lantesh) and I'm already looking forward to seeing them re-appear a few more times in the course of the serie.
How would you rate SG-1's "The Tok'ra, Part 1?"

I don't see them as arrogant. In any deal, their has to be benefits for both sides. Daniel really did not do a good job in explaining the benefits of an alliance. Really on paper we do like inferior. The point that SG1 shows in later episodes is not just technology that matters. After all Goa'uld technology is just stolen from the Ancients. This episode is really a fair for me. Their is a lot of exposition and explanation for who the Tok'ra are. I'm always cringing on the inaccurate schziophrenic analogy made by Carter. But really not much happens. This episode is a victim of the two parter trap.

Error :
CARTER : This must be what it feels like to be schizophrenic.
MARTOUF : What is schizophrenic?
CARTER : It's a mental illness humans have. It's like a split personality. Two people in one brain. I mean, there's me, Samantha Carter, and then there's this leftover part of Jolinar that feels things like…"
Actually schizophrenia and split personalities are two completly different mental illness. Sam is a highly trained scientist, so even if she is not a medical doctor, she shouldn't confuse these.
