What does Danial use as a way to do the "Manual" dial up?
Since it is not shown, just the power up and then the vortex, I am wondering what he used to complete the dial up?
    Thanks,
    Spence

Have they ever revisted that planet? The people there seemed pretty advance at the time?

If they did, it wasn't on the show.
Yes, I really do look like (a younger) Daniel. Don't believe me? Look for yourself.

Hey, Mitchell! You want a turn?

It was interesting to see Linea’s surprise that Sam could have figured out the Stargate. (Shades of Arrogance.) And given that SG1’s appearance upset the power she’d cultivated, Linea would have been more than happy to take their Gate info & leave them there if Jack hadn’t insisted the terms were help us, then we’ll share info with you.

I don’t think SG1 (at least not everyone on the team) thought she was in there for something minor. Especially not after they see more evidence of her knowledge of chemistry/biology (it’d be awfully easy for her to concoct poisons to kill those who didn’t do her bidding…). But they need Linea’s knowledge if they want to survive and get home. Jack even tells Daniel: “Any place like this has its own set of rules, and they don't have to make sense. Linea's obviously done whatever she's needed to do to survive. Just like we are.” And Linea warns Sam later “Do not think that I am innocent.”

However once back to base I don’t think I’d have been so quick to give Linea access to a network computer, deal or no deal.

Yea they did trust her a little to much. I have a few questions about this ep.
How did Leana get the little hand held device? Its not like the Taldor allowed any of the other prisoners to have stuff.
Does anyone know why Leana was doing what she was doing? I can't believe she was doing it for fun.
Also if she didn't even know what a computer was (and she most likely wasn't faking as most cultures don't have technology just like ours) how did she take control so easily?

Also its really getting annoying when ever some one takes control of the SGC that they set the self destruct and we cant abort it till the last second. That has happend so many times.

Advanced? Yes. Xenophobic? Ditto. Frankly, I'd rather do without what we could acquire from them than spend all my time diddling around in negotiations with a group that ridiculously trigger-happy.

Which doesn't necessary mean that the SGC hasn't since been back...it just means that it's not on the show. Which is what fic is for.

Enemies setting off the self-destruct is getting really old.

I think it was naive of SG-1 to think that Linea was wrongly imprisoned, especially after they saw how the prisoners fled every time she came near them.

It was quite different in this case. The self destruct was simply a ruse to distract SG-1 from pursuit of Linea.

At least we don't see the self-destruct initiated every time an unscheduled offworld activation occurs as was the case during the beginning of the first season.

This seems like the first episode where they kinda made it clear you could not go into and through an incoming wormhole. With the folks dying by the event horizon.

You see, for me, when I watched the movie, I thought, like one of the soldiers had said, that Earth could dial Abydos again, and then they could just go home. Someone said, "it doesn't work like that", but as best as I can recall, there was never anymore explaination or reasoning given about it not working that way.

i hope the "destroyer of worlds" has learnt something from the experience and is nice now

Well actually in "The Enemy Within" Tealc got rid of Kawalsky at the end an turned it off.........but yeah you are right that the whoosh is frist made out to be deadly in this eppy. A pretty average eppy..........it is so interesting watching the acting in this episode and then comparing it to newer episodes.....they just seem to have much smoother acting abilities in the newer ones.
