And about CB and BB... I do love Farscape and I think they are brilliant. If their characters on SG suck, I don't think we can blame the actors. IMO, CB has worked well with what she was given especially in season 10.

I agree on that. I don't blame the actors for the downfall of the show, it's the characters. And the characters aren't written by the actors. The actors do their job, and if they can't influence their characters in the writing department, I too think they simply did their best with what they were given. I think both characters could have worked well on the show, if the writing was better.

Since this is your first time here, I think you should know that most posts here don't blame BB or CB for what their characters did. We blame TPTB and the writers, but mostly Coop for how he changed our show

I think what you are seeing now, is some of the effects these characters have had on people. I too feel the same, I enjoyed CB's performance in Pitch Black and have seen them once in a while in Farscape. While I didn't love the show, I did catch it once in a while. But now thanks to the characters of Cam and Vala I can't even catch a show of Farscape without thinking of Cam and Vala. Is it right, probably not, but it is the affect it has some people.

I have all four seasons of Farscape, plus the Peacekeeper Wars, all on dvd. I used to watch it all the time when it was on the tv, and obviously enjoyed it.

Now, I can't bring myself to watch those dvds because of s9 and 10 of Stargate.

I think I'm going to have to wait some time before I can bring myself to watch the dvds again, so that I can get rid of the sour taste in my mouth.

I feel so sad that something like this has happened to taint my enjoyment of two shows.

That ep Liars, Guns and Money(part 2) airdate was 1/12/2001

Stargate started 1997
Stargate just in 2005

First replicator ep was Nemesis, it's airdate was 3/10/2000

So of the two Stargate did it first...probably Startrek did something similar and of course there was always the movie Runaway from 1984 (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0088024/) with mechanical spider galor...sorry no good pics at that link.

of course we can't blame the actors. i mean, how many times have we heard that so and so actor had an issue with a scene and is told 'no, do it our way' by the powers that be?

ben had issues with cam, claudia with vala, amanda with sam kissing pete, all of them were basically ignored for the sake of making what tptb wanted made

I probably won't watch Farscape because it doesn't interest me. It's a bit too campy (far more campy than SG, fcol), though I would be interested in seeing BB and CB interact, because they seem to be good friends and have great chemistry.

I guess I'm on the opposite end of the spectrum in this case. Not including Farscape, I would jump at the chance to watch BB and CB in anything and everything that's not SG-related, because I would love to see their talents utilized differently. Cam and Vala, I think, didn't live up to the potential BB and CB could've achieved under different circumstances.

I'll definitely watch BB in the miniseries on SciFi when it comes out next year, and I'll definitely check CB out in NBC's "Life".



And don't worry about Special T. She's annoyingly harmless in the grand scheme of things.
