i've come up with different 'confirmation' scenes for the 3rd movie, here's another...

scene opens in an empty living room, when the phone starts to ring. we hear someone(s) trying to open the door quickly to answer it. sam opens the door and tells jack to hurry and answer, but he's struggling with suitcases. he says 'i can't!' and laughs, and then sam laughs and drops her bags and goes to answer the phone.

while she's on the phone and we don't know who she's talking to, jack comes up behind her and wraps his arms around her. while she's trying to continue the phone convo, jack starts kissing her shoulders and then neck. sam's concentration is slipping and she's trying to shake jack off. he's having nothing of it.

sam then says, 'yes, general landry, we'll be in.' jack steps back from sam and she giggles.

she hangs up and turns to jack.

jack: we have to go in? *have* to?

sam: yes, jack.

jack: jeez, we just got back from our honeymoon!

sam grabs jack's hand and starts to pull him along.

sam: but i didn't tell the general 'when' we'd be in.

the camera stays in the living room, where we can hear jack swearing when he stubs his toe and sam giggling.

39 in a half hour, Jumble? Sheesh, I don't usually get 39 in one DAY! LOL!

I have to wonder about that sly smile on Window of Opportunity as well. It can't just be from a kiss! But I don't think Jack, being the kind of man that he is, would take complete advantage . . . I'm thinking there were just a lot of different kisses and we only got to see one. They were, after all, stuck in that loop for 3 months!

Hey, I was watching the Quest this weekend and at the end when Vala is banging at the keyboard as she's standing in the room with the rest of SG1. She's all frustrated about the fact that they've lost Daniel, and Sam goes over to her and stops her from killing the thing. She doesn't say anything but just looks knowingly at Vala.

I was thinking that that could probably (in fic world) be the moment that Sam, being able to relate to Vala in that situation, shares her feelings (confidentially) about Jack and about the times she almost lost him, and reassures Vala that they'll do everything to get Daniel back.

Because I feel that there was so much between Sam and Vala that we never got to see.

So, you know, I'm just throwing that out there for anyone, who, you know wants to do a little fic on the subject. Anyone. Anyone at all.

Which means more kissing or more of something else, or both.

Well, if you're writing it, hypothetically, it could be as long as you think it should be, hypothetically.

I was thinking of it as a 'missing scene' length type fic.

So, hyothetically do you think you'll start it soon. Hypothetically of course.

Oh I so agree with you about that smile.

It's was such a " I know something you don't know" smile if I ever saw one. I just crack up every time I see it!

Apparently, she does. One of my favorites. And I think it makes a good point for why Jack wouldn't have let things go too far with Sam.

However long it needs to be to tell the story. Don't limit yourself by deciding it should be a certain length and no longer.

A story is as long as NEEDS to be - no longer, no shorter.

I agree that Sam and Vala could have been shown as having more of a friendship than we got to see. The two actresses brilliantly let us know that there WAS a friendship, even though we seldom got to see it written, though. I always got the impression that Sam was pretty open with Vala about Jack - she's another woman, she doesn't KNOW Jack personally, she's not military and she'd probably be a pretty supportive friend. And I'm sure that Sam was the same for Vala when Daniel was missing - only maybe a little more quietly!
