I have this little fantasy scene taking place at the pentagon between Barrett and Kerry in which Barrett asks her if she has any idea who Sam Carter could be seeing because she spent time in Colorado Springs and might know. Kerry puts her arm on the poor boys shoulder, shakes her head in pity, advises him to give it up because he doesn't have a chance, and walks off chuckling to herself.

But that's just me.

IMHO, Jack is being a highly evolved Alpha Male here.

Reminding Landry, and the universe in general, that she is his while admitting that, as smart and capable as she is, she can never be ONLY his. Kind of like owning the Mona Lisa... even if you owned it, you'd still have to keep it hanging in the museum, shared with everyone, or it would lose its value. Yes, Sam is going back, but Jack *could* have kept her from doing so. If he so chose. Which he wants to do... but knows he can't. Poor Jack Its not easy being married to a national treasure.

And of course, we get Sam's, 'He's an idiot but I love him' smile there when she reports.

Sam, like Mitchell, doesn't salute when she reports to Landry. Military protocol says that when officially reporting to a senior officer, even indoors, you should salute. The only time I know of when you wouldn't is if you are a Medal Of Honor winner. Mitchell is, so no salute. Sam doesn't salute so, was she awarded it, too. I should think so! And I believe that hints she did! Which may mean Jack is the only person in the military she still has to salute, assuming he was awarded it to <evil grin>

Jennifer -- watched Entity, ship music there. Watched bits of Solitudes, and its not.
