I've always thought of this episode as "Emancipation, Part Two" aka The-One-Where-Sexism-Goes-to-Die-Part-Two. But I actually like "Emancipation, Part 1" a lot more than this episode, which is ... really weird to say!

I do like Hathor as a villainess, though I like "Out of Mind/Into the Fire" much more than "Hathor" (not the least because her wig is atrocious in this first episode).

Unsurprisingly, my biggest beef with this episode is the fact that Hathor's assaults on both Daniel and Jack are glossed over completely. Daniel's assault is passed off as a plot device and is never addressed (except for an unsympathetic "eww" from Jack) and in my mind, the scene with Jack is completely gratuitous and seems like it was only included to fill up time in the episode (though we did get several scenes of shirtless RDA, so that complaint is minimal... ).

In fact, the entire episode seems gratuitous when you think about how it was later established that baby symbiotes are born from queens like Egeria. We never hear hide nor hair of queen Goa'ulds like Hathor again (other queens, like Isis and Amonet, seem to be regular Goa'ulds), and TPTB did their best to establish an "alternate" asexual reproductive process.

I think the whole "Women Behind Bars" scene is so awkward (), but I do love that Sam and Janet get to save the day. I especially like that Hammond commends both of them in the end and Jack gives Sam that little smile as he tells her she did a good job. I've always felt that this is the episode where Jack knows 100% how capable Sam is and how much he trusts her, and that Sam realizes that she no longer has to prove herself to Jack or anyone at the SGC.

Yes! I also love that as Sam thinks she's in major trouble, she gets a commendation I feel like I think the girls probably felt in the episode, mainly "what the hell?!" And I think they probably wanted to smack the boys upside the head...a lot!
