Sam Carter /Jack O'Neill Ship Appreciation Thread 2.0

I was watching POV yesterday and I noticed something interesting... when Samantha is crying in front of our Jack about losing her Jack, Jack begins to say "Look, you're dealing with a loss right now that I can't even-" then he stops.

He gets this look for a split second like he suddenly realises that he can't finish that sentence because it would be a lie and it's something that he's never thought about before. I think that's the moment that Jack realised that his feelings for Sam were maybe more than they should be (although I think it's during Upgrades when he yells "NO!" on the ship that it actually hits him that he's in love with Sam )

I was so focused on the OMG!OMG!They're-married-and-he's-awkward part that I never noticed the look before. I <3 re-watches, there are so many layers to this ship!

It wasn't that long ago I watched that ep and I just figured he didn't finish the sentence because he had no idea what to say. I'm gonna have to go back and check it out again.

Rewatches are great. I watched The Prodigy today and I never before really noticed the bit where Jack meets Sam and Haley at the gate:
CARTER Thank you Sir. How are you?
O'NEILL Ah well the back's acting up a little actually, the knees, you know...
Then they wander off happily chatting to each other leaving Haley to trail behind. So cute

Speaking of rewatches...Sparky...what's up with the Season 5 rewatch?

I totally agree. One of the things I love about the show is that I can watch most episodes over and over and I catch New nuances every time.

Amara, it's not really clear...can a request be claimed by more than one person? I'm hoping to post a couple of my own this week too

By virtue of the software, yes. That said, we've asked that claims be handled on a first come, first serve basis. But it's all basically on the honor system so we can fill as many prompts as possible. That said, if you just can't help but write/create something for a prompt, I don't think anyone is going to complain about more goodies.

Since this is the first one, we're sort of playing fast and loose with the "rules" so we can see what's really going to work.

I just finished season 3 (plowed through it, actually). I probably wouldn't be ready for season 5 for the early eps, but perhaps for the later ones. Depending on when it starts, I might could even do a review for one of the later episodes. I'd just like to make sure I'm done with school before I commit to anything else and that's a month from now.

Yeah that's what I assumed too but I was kinda half-watching it and cleaning and I happened to look up just as he said the line and I noticed the look. Blink and you'll miss it but, to me, it seemed like it wasn't that he was stuck for words.


Re: Prodigy: I *love* that episode, they act like such a married couple. I love when Hailey says to Sam that Jack is just taking her side because she's Sam - she so doesn't realise how profound that statement is lol!

I had to get my vote in for the looks because they are really the best. I've heard fans of other ships talk about the chemistry between their favorite characters, but when I compare any and all of them to Sam and Jack they just don't hold a candle. This ship definitely has the best looks!
