I can't remember whether I've read that part. I've read some of it - I had this weird déjà vu moment with her because I read it then met her over here. I think I got that far... I'll have to check.

I think apart he'd do something homemade and heartfelt. Like maybe hand-carved chotchkies, little wooden things she can carry with her to Pegasus.

Together, he'd whisk himself and Sam off to a tropical beach, where they can snooze in the sun and do couples massages. And then maybe they'd go fishing. ... ...deep sea fishing.

I've started watching NCIS:LA recently and I love the relationship between Kensi and Deeks. They are partners and are always arguing or flirting with each other. In last night's episode, Kensi was asking Deeks some questions from what she claimed was a "partner's" quiz, but wasn't. One of the questions was something on the order of what did Deeks think she smelled like. He didn't answer until later in the episode, but his answer was "You smell like sunshine." And a moment later, he added, " ... and gunpowder. You smell like sunshine and gunpowder."

What would Jack think Sam smelled like?

I think that fanfic writers made it up. There was never anything in the series about it.
