The Grinch of Shipmas... would be Jacob. I don't think he liked Jack much when they first met. He thought he was holding her back from NASA, he did not like the Ship. But through the years, with his faithful friend Selmack (Max) he saw that Jack would ALWAYS protect her and bring her home safe. So, on his death-bed his heart open wide, he told his daughter to let go of the rules and find true happiness that she deserves (with Jack!)
