..Because there's no competition for me. Whenever I hear the word always, it's Jack and Sam that comes to mind. Always is as good, if not better, than just saying "I love you." It's a promise, it's a confession, it's so completely Jack and Sam.

Don't get me wrong. I love the alternate timelines and realities. They keep my imagination churning at full speed. All the possibilities! "There But For the Grace of God" is one of my favorite episodes, because it's our first glimpse of another reality. And not only do we see a different SGC, but we see a different Sam. But the only difference is that she's not military. She's still bad@$$, she's still brilliant... But she isn't kept from being with Jack. And what we see between her and Jack is beautiful--simple, comfortable, natural, but incredibly, tenderly intimate.

And, I suppose the same could be said for every alternate reality we see a glimpse of. Their relationship seems to be a trans-universal constant.

However, my vote goes to "Always" because that moment is all those things I like about the alternate realities and timelines. It's sweet, it's natural, and it's intimately tender. And, of course, it's ALWAYS. Thereby putting into words what we already know through all those ARs and ATs we've seen.
