    A songfic is a regular story, but with verses of the song in among the paragraphs... If you'd like an example, I wrote one for Sanctuary here and one for NCIS here.

    I'm not saying they're very good, but they're examples .

      Ah! I see... I had not read examples of that before. I think I prefer pure fic or vids...it's kind of like my feeling about crossovers and not liking my fictional universes to touch (lol).

            A song fic doesn't necessarily have to have the verses from the song in the story. It can simply inspire the story or "sum it up" so to speak. For example the first few stories for Annerb's DC series could be considered a version of song fic. I don't care for song fics myself but I have on that was titled and inspired by a song because it just fit - Don't Dream It's Over.

              SG-1 Rewatch slight OT

              Spoiler:
              just noticed while catching up on season 3 rewatch that Deadman Switch, Demons and Rules of Engagement all deal with SG-1 going after a downed UAV. do you think it was deliberate or just coincidental?

                            - Jack is sleeping

                              Jack raises a glass... possibly in one of the scenes where he's drinking with Daniel (COTG, perhaps?) or at the wake in Fire and Water.

                              Jack is sleeping-- there's Threads, where he's waking up with Kerry, or in Zero Hour when he's trying to get some sleep on base, or when in the ep where Jack is cloned and replaced with a kid (I forget the title at the moment).

                              Sam is sleeping-- Chimera, maybe, with careful editing to keep the spud out of the frame, Nightwalkers-- when the phone wakes her up, Learning Curve-- when she's in her lab asleep, Grace (kind of sleeping, kinda unconscious, whatever )

                              Sam waking up-- pretty much any of the ones for when she's sleeping

                              Hope that helps! I'll keep thinking of more for yah, and I'll let you know if I find any good ones...

                                Jack is sleeping in "Fragile Balance" (and the others already mentioned).

                                Sam wakes up in:

                                "Out of Mind"
                                "Seth" (after being infused with Nishta)
                                "Learing Curve"
                                "Foothold"
                                "Desperate Measures"
                                "Nightwalkers"
                                "Unnatural Selection" (on the bridge of the Prometheus)
                                "Grace"
                                "Chimera"
                                "Death Knell"
                                "New Order" (in the farmhouse in Fifth's fantasy world)

                                You can pick out the ones she wasn't really injured in, but those are most of the ones where Sam is seen waking up.
