I watched "Ripple-Effect" just yesterday.
As I first saw it, I didn't know, Martouf would be in it.
That was a really nice surprise for me!
How he got a member of SG1?
Because he had a relationship with Sam.
Didn't worked so they broke up.

I thought it was an interesting choice for the writers in Ripple Effect to have Sam with Martouf...usually she's paired with Jack in other realitites (grr). Actually, all of them except for The Road Not Taken, where she's with McKay. And then that almost kiss—considering how few episodes Martouf was in, we were really lucky to get Ripple Effect. It's just too bad he had to leave in the end.
