At age 1, took every Kleenex out of the box. Then graduated to unrolling every toilet paper roll in the house about age 2. Then went on to tear every single thing (appliances, bikes, purses) apart from 3-6. It wasnt' until a few years later, she learned to put them all back together

Hahaha....yes! Just like that but she'd do it methodically...very neat and tidy...just completely dismantled lol. Actually thats my little brother *rolls eyes*

Of course once she knew she could get Sam to fix the household appliances she didn't mind so much...

Neighbor: So did you get Jacob to fix the dryer?

Sam's mom: um, well actually, Sam fixed it.

Sam's mom: She's very good with mechanical things.

ETA: Oh and let's not forget sneaking out of the house at 2AM? to watch the stars.

Hahaha....yeah...I wonder what Sam would have considered it worth sneaking out of the house for? Meteor showers....planets mind you...I reckon her folks would have encouraged that to some degree, my parents would wake me up in the middle of the night to see some particularly cool astronomical phenomena when I was a kid (and now sometimes...though some times I wake them up)

Geez, I thought pigeons were only on Earth!

Hi everyone, I'm not going to be around from Friday for about a week or two as I have to have some urgent surgery.

I have a detached retina. I woke up this morning and couldn't see out of my right eye. I've spent all day today going from my doctor to a specialist to the eye hospital and I'm scheduled for surgery on Friday. I also have a tear in my left eye as well so they are going to do that at the same time. Hopefully I'll only need to spend overnight in hospital and come home Saturday but I have to lie face down for a week of recovery and I'm not sure how much sight I will regain in my right eye after the surgery. The doctor said I should get most of it back but as with any surgery there are no guarantees.

So everyone cross your fingers and please send some good thoughts my way.

Oh and send some good thoughts to my Mum too 'cos she's looking after me and a bed bound RoX is a bored RoX and a bored RoX is BAD

Everything duly crossed for you. Having had cataract surgery I am fully aware of how precious sight is. Be good afterward. Bored silly for a little while is a far preferable state to being half blind forever.

Oh that sucks! Eye surgery is horrible because you can't even read as you recover.

No way! I don't like the beach up there. I know it's only 15 minutes up the coast, but it's different. So you catch the train down to my place, Sam picks up ATF and the beer... and we're good to go.

What could be better than hot girls with guns? mmm....yummers!



Drive her mom batty? Hmm...Well off the top of my head and something I've done before is perhaps at the age of 8 or 9 I could see her sneaking out her window onto the roof at night with her telescope to do some stargazing. She wouldnt think anything terribly wrong with this and would be totally oblivious to her mom calling for her to come get a bath or whatever. Frantically she would look throughout the house before returning to little Sam's room and discovering the open window and the curtains blowing softly in the night breeze. Craning her neck to look out, she would find Sam deep in the middle of her exploration of the night sky as well as her daydreams of far away planets and solar systems.



OMG...how freaking funny! This strikes me as hiliarious cos I have on differing occasions been the target of some dive-bombing birds with weak intestinal fortitude.

OT time! Worked my ass off today doing a 12 hour shift (went to work when it was daylight and came out in the night..sheesh! gf wasn't all that happy either). I was totally beat and my pedometer said I did 12,000 steps today...well over the 10,000 ideal. After just having spent three months this summer at home due to severe illness, I understand how you'll feel I did find, however, the commentaries are just as good to 'listen' to as they are to watch. I don't really like having the commentaries on when I'm watching the episodes, I keep thinking 'shut up so I can watch the show!'

I found I liked 'listening' to the episodes too, it was like 'old time' radio. I've watched the show long enough to fill in the pictures in my head. Plus, I seemed to get lots of ideas for fan fiction imagining the characters in my head. I didn't know fanfiction existed until the beginning of the summer when I was bored and 'surfing' the internet. Will Mom like listening too? Maybe she'll be a fan by the end of the week Just start with season 1 and work your way through.
