Best remedie for that is Sleep Aid and a window seat where one can curl up against the wall. Oh and avoid heels...I wear shoes I can slip off and on easily and are super compfy. And maybe Amanda should just slow down a little bit...as I tell the kids, no running in the house...or airport!!
    Works for me.

I'm not sure what the longest time you've spent on a plane is but when I travel to the UK/Europe, I'm looking at a 22 hour flight...not something one can just nod off on when you're seated for way longer than one is used to.

I can't imagine being on a plane for that long! I would definitely need some time between legs to stretch out, etc. I flew to Germany once from New York but a) that was 30 years ago, and I don't remember it (other than I left a book on the plane, and I've always wanted it back!) and b) I think we took a red-eye flight (which would make sense, considering my sister and I were flying with my grandma). We actually started in Chicago, then had to switch planes in New York. That was not fun!

See, I'm blessed (or cursed) with a vivid imagination - 22 hours non stop running for an engine (let alone four) seems like a recipe for disaster. I wouldn't sleep for listening for anomalies in the engine noises!

Me either - plus my airsickness wouldn't help. A three hour flight was pure torture, I would actually need fully knocking out with sedatives to do that length flight.

Just popping in to say thanks for all the birthday wishes and the green from everyone on the thread..very kind of you...

As for air travel...I have Stargate to thank indirectly for curing my fear of flying....I refused to fly for 20 years and then in 2005 I desperately wanted to go to Canada to visit family but also to find out more about the locations used for my favourite show ..I saw a hypnotherapist and since then have have lost count how many times I've made return visits to North America and elsewhere around the world...I now drop off to sleep automatically on any flight over 4 hours......even when squashed in the worst seat in Economy....good ear plugs and/or a relaxation tape on my MP3 Player and I'm away with the fairies before you know it...

Haven't done the really long-haul Down Under yet...hope to one day as we've set ourselves a goal of doing a Round-The-World before we die...

                  Deeds xx

Haha The joy of flying from Oz! I've done 30h flights now a few times and I have to tell you I do not get used to them. I'm fine the first 10 hours and then I get really restless and uncomfortable and just like Amanda I really don't sleep too well So at the time of the landing I'm pretty much exhausted. That in combination with motion sickness.... I'm sure I don't have to tell you it's not a pretty picture! I'm always so relieved to have both my feet back on the ground

Flying doesn't make me sick. I can read in the car. I don't drive, yet.

My biggest issue is that I'm a side sleeper which is impossible on a plane.
