There's a sad postscript to her directing debut with Resurrection which AT shared with us at GABIT. She was eight weeks pregnant during that hectic time and shortly thereafter lost the baby. So it must have been "the best of times and the worst of times" for her. She's quite a courageous lady.

i can't even imagine how hard that'd be. to know, and presumably to tell folks...and then to lose it. which, i think, is why with her last pregnancy she didn't tell a soul until she was past the 'danger' point, usually out of the 1st trimester

this kinda sounds weird but, at gatecon 2004 she had to have been pregnant since it was in july and olivia was born in march...and it's sorta neat to know that when i got my pic with her she was pregnant at the time. now i know why she was glowing...but there was also this uncertainty about the whole thing

the last one i wrote was Forever, a sequel to So Shall it Be.
this fic i'm working on right now has taken a bit. It's going to be a series of 9 fic (maybe with an epilogue, don't know now) where each chapter takes place a year apart. so it's set in and around each season adn was originally thoguht up at christmas time, so it ties into that...but it's probably gonna be the end of themonth before i have it out since i'm only on chapter 7 right now

my fic writing has slowed down a lot. There's not as much in teh show to inspire me anymore and i've also reached the 'haven't i written that story' point, where it's harder and harder to come up with an original idea

Hmmmph. That's what AUs are FOR, sky! To reinvent the past, present and future. I have to admire those who took part in the various alternate-season fic series, because that had to have taken a lot of work.

I guess the only way to remain inspired is to check out Season Eight episodes and go from there. Sad.

Kat's right. You're passing up an opportunity to see Amanda for a pretty lousy excuse, seeing as you've got such a huge window of time to work up some money before GABIT.
For me, money isn't so much the problem. I mean, hey, don't get me wrong, I would certainly fit into the 'poor student' category, but what I'm saying is that I'd be willing to find a way to work up the money before November. But, even though I'm the tiniest itsiest littlest bit older than you, I'm obviously far less independent and would never be allowed overseas on my own. In other words, no way in hell am I going to GABIT.
You've got the opportunity Qas, I'm sure you could do it. All I'm saying is, if I were you, I would.

Anyway, don't mind my rambling, I'm only here to procrastinate.

was flicking through the latest brit sci fi mags this lunchtime.

TVZone has a special out. No one mentions Vala much so I guess they didn't know she would be back as a regular.

TVZone also didn't rate the first half of season 9 too highly and commented in the first few eps that they should be concentrating more on the mitchel character who was too in the background.

The also scored 1 ep a 3 out of 10, Overall they were not impressive ratings and were generally wondering what had happened to the original writing. They commented a lot on how the plotlines had been done before by other shows.

Last weekend 1speed and I watched Fallen and Homecoming. There were some great Sam moments in those and were well written stories.

One mag commented about CB being added to the cast, but didn't really comment on that, but they did say that at one stage it was thought that Amanda would split her time 50/50 between SG1 and Atlantis and apparently JM has stated that Sam will be well rooted in SG1 (Perhaps the uproar at gateworld helped)

JM will also be writing an ep in season 10 which features Vala think it may be no 8 or 10, I can't quite remember.

Apologies if I am repeating stuff others have posted. I just can't keep up with the thread these days!!

Also 1speed and Strix seem to have outvoted me on the activities choice and we are doing Celtic Remains.

(Now I'm sure I could counjour up a joke from that line involving 1speed, but as I am mountain biking with him tomorrow I better keep my trap shut lest he forces me off the track!)
