I watched this the other day and the guy tells Mac that he wil lose the outer layer of skin all over ,so can some one explain why it left his hair intact? or maybe I'm just over thinking anyone else?

I think it's 'cuz hair follicles go deeper than the outer layer of skin, though his scalp would have been the only thing flaking off, not actual hair.
