I know what you mean NAZ.. Working evenings sometimes sucks.. You get to sleep-in in the morning (unless you do double shift like me) but.. your social life sucks!!
How do I access that? I'm on a Mac....it sounds familiar, but I've no idea where it is...
S
OSX?
Go to System Preferences --> International --> Input Menu. Check Character Palette. Also Check Show input menu in menu bar.
At the top right of your screen next to the time/clock, you should see a little flag. Hilite and click Show Character Palette.
Click by Category --> European Scripts --> Latin.
You'll see a list of all accented characters. Click in the text where you want it inserted, hilite the accented character you want, click the Insert button at bottom and it should be inserted into the text.
I go learn new words in my lesson - watching random images of people I don't know illustrate points. Then I have a perfectly legitimate reason for looking through (read drooling over) RDA photos to find something abou what I've learned! Then my incentive to do this daily is that I get to come over here and play in the gutter.
Take for instance: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v4...kmypointbw.jpg
L'homme montre quelque chose du doight. (I want to say he is pointing with his right hand, however, I think I've said he is pointing to the right)
This is where my trusty, all be it distracted, French prof will come in and make the appropriate corrections. And if you can still get stuff done while being this distracted, then you will be tres, tres, good at what you are learning!
So there!
That's my story and I'm stickin' to it!
S
*coughs* and what about the French Prof. being distracted too, huh?!... Look for instance... I almost didn't see your [spelling] mistake... it's DOIGT, not doight....
Now... To say he's pointing with his right hand:
L'homme montre avec la main droite
And to say he's pointing to the right:
L'homme montre vers la droite
Oh, and BTW
La tete de l'homme est dans sa main. ( His head is in his hand)
Aurevoir!
Note to professeur: I don't have the proper markings on my keyboard to make the thing above the e in tete.
ROTFL!!!!....
Okay... the sentence is grammatically correct but... it looks like "The MAN" has removed his head and is now holding it...
A better way to put this would be:
l'homme appuie sa tête sur sa main.... And yeah... I know about the "accent circonflexe" (^).... QWERTY keyboards don't have it... and they got all teh letters wrong anyway... How can you type on these?!!!
I'm thinking that tonight will hold a mini SG marathon even if I have to beat hubs over the head to do it. I feel like good comfort food and goofing off! Obviously...
