              The picture seems to be from the early 90s and was most likely colored since RDA was going gray towards the end of the MacGyver series. There are some old pictures of him on the rdanderson site. Seems that darker brown was the original color when he reached early adulthood.

                  I read in an interview one time that he said the producers of MacGyver told him that his brown hair looked like "s**t on a stick" and started highlighting it and eventually turned him blond.

                  In 1992, he did Through the Eyes of a Killer. His hair was dyed dark brown, almost black for that role.

                  According to the documentation on this pic from RDA-Forever, it was taken in 1992. I'm guessing the dark brown is left over from the filming.

                          Thanks Rural. I haven't been to the RDA site in a while and never had that question pop into my fron. So I'll be checking out those pics now
