There’s an old song out there that, IMO, covers the J/S ship.
“If you can’t be with the one you love, love the one you’re with.”

I think Sam is settling for the man she can have and hoping that whatever is between them will mature into what she (emotionally) already has with Jack.
Personally, I don’t see that happening.
FCOL, Jack was willing to DIE on the chance of saving her (D&C).
Pete stalks her.
Which one would YOU choose? DUH!!

Now, I don’t necessarily want Pete to die, just do something so incredibly DUMB that Sam realizes this is NOT the man for her.
I would wait for Jack, and take whatever companionship I could get within regs in the meantime.

Very true indeed! Hopefully she will realise that she loves (I know that is a horrible thought but I guess she does )) but she is in love with Jack very soon!
