Okay, hussies, here's something new from me that's a little different. I wrote a silly “poem” because Bling sort of challenged me late, late one night to write a limerick using a certain word. You will see that I obviously do really stupid things when I'm overtired, and I make NO pretensions to having any literary skills (it’s just a limerick for goodness sake!), but I did enjoy writing it. And I've numbered the 12 stanzas (yes – 12 by gawd! ) so you can read them in order, one per post. More fun that way.
Archaeological Predilections
1
Although desperate for a helper in transcription,
With a passion for languages and proper diction,
Dr. Jackson was too fussy
And would only give the job to a hussy
Who admitted to the same predilections.
2
Overflowing with skills and persistence,
And insistence on thorough assistance,
His hire conjugated with ease
Was quite eager to please,
And to working late made no resistance.
3
To his orations she gave her full attention,
And no dilemma caused her apprehension.
In fact, her boss was amazed that
She remained completely unfazed
When he disappeared for a year of Ascension.
4
Alas, one night sorting transcripts Egyptian
She realized that she'd acquired an affliction.
For her employer had inspired
Almost primal desire, nearly
Amounting to a Daniel-addiction.
5
She just couldn't shake the impression
That propinquity might lead to transgression.
When even the sound of his sneezing
Became unbearably pleasing,
She knew she must make her confession.
6
In a brief note she left explanation
For making her quick resignation:
"If I stay here much longer my
Feelings will only grow stronger,
Leading to danger of heart palpitations."
7
She watched as he pondered her missive
In the hope that he would be permissive.
Though his heart gave a tug
It was the strength of her hug
That convinced him he must be submissive.
8
Her decision would not be recanted,
So her wish to leave he sadly granted.
A tear came to his eye
And he waved his goodbye,
Before noticing he'd been de-panted.
9
Jack, watching this chain of events
Couldn’t help but put in his two cents,
“Daniel, Hussy accruing
Will be your undoing!
It would help of you used commonsense.”
10
Teal’c saw Jack taking Daniel to task,
For the disappearance of his slacks.
He wondered why the loss of one garment
Was causing such torment. Why,
If she’d wanted his, she had only to ask!
11
But Sam, once having learned the details,
Knew that Daniel had been destined to fail.
His “loss” might be lamented
But not circumvented.
(She knew Hussies must always prevail.)
12
Thanks for giving my fable a chance.
And although I knew the end in advance,
I’d be very distressed
If you hadn’t guessed
That Daniel would end up sans pants.

And he waved his goodbye,
