To all our friends in the UK.
And to all those who were affected by what happened today.
My thoughts and best wishes go out to all of you & yours.
I only just now learned of the tragedy in London,
otherwise I would have posted this sooner.

I'm much too tired, and far too devistated to thunk tonite.
So I'll just leave a most beautiful pic for all the Hussies here,
and say G'Nite with a (((hug))).

Quiet night last night. I think the downtime was good. Gave some of us a chance to reflect on recent events.
I'm very grateful to whatever powers that be that it seems no Gateworlders were involved in the London tragedy. I won't use the word "affected," because we all are. Believe me, UKers, if anyone understands the outrage and utter helplessness to retaliate you feel at the moment, it's we Americans. My heart goes out to all of you.
There's been some headlines here, too, about a kidnapping and several murders up in Couer d'Alene, in the northern part of my state. Animals and monsters don't have to be faceless strangers. The guy they've arrested is from my hometown. So right now I'm just disgusted, angry, and I feel pretty impotent.
(((Hussies))) Group hug.
OK, now to lighten the mood. Ooo, it's Danny's birthday!

Well. There's some great quotes across LiveJournal about yesterday's events. We are being oh so typically British about it all Stiff upper lip, pip pip, move along, nothing to see here. This quote I pulled is typical of the entries I'm reading, and sums it all up really. I don't know who it's from, but I would dearly like to thank them.
When the news reporter said "Shopkeepers are opening their doors bringing out blankets
and cups of tea" I just smiled. It's like yes. That's Britain for you. Tea solves everything.
You're a bit cold?
Tea.
Your boyfriend has just left you?
Tea.
You've just been told you've got cancer?
Tea.
Coordinated terrorist attack on the transport network bringing the city to a grinding halt?
TEA!
And if it's really serious, they may bring out the coffee. The Americans have their alert raised
to red, we break out the coffee. That's for situations more serious than this of course. Like
another England penalty shoot-out [in soccer].
I am so proud of my country and proud to stand up and say I'm British.
