I'll be up front, so I'll try to get GREAT photos. If I don't, I have lots of friends who take fantastic ones! (Too bad Angie won't be with us. She has an INCREDIBLE camera and sat on the aisle in the second row last year!)

I'm looking forward to the piccies- any piccies- even stick drawings will do!

Believe me I really wanted to be over with you guys this year but real life didn't want to play the game. On the plus side Ben got a rest from my flashgun from hell. Also I'm still being very bad in that I still haven't posted my 500 plus con pics from last year though I actually may get them up by xmas!

Hoping to go next year though cause I miss you guys terribly. Hate being on this side of the pond sometimes.

Thanks, Anya, for taking pity on us poor deprived Mitchell/Ben addicts by sharing some of your Ben Q&A with us! Between that and BritAngie's lovely link to Ben's Eclipse Magazine interview, I am feeling quite mellow. He gives the best interviews! True, he may not actually answer the questions, but he does it in such funny and witty way that you don't really care. I bet interviewers get dizzy from him running circles around them!

So all and all a nice little "fix" today for this poor addict, but just like jello there is always room for more Ben. So, any other con goers out there, please share!

Thanks so much Anya for your extended report:

-he said that the fans have been very kind to him in person. On the internet, he notes that people would "say" things that they would never say to a person's face. (The Internet allows for the “radical viewpoint…in the privacy of [one’s] basement, when the parents are asleep” )

-he considered a webcam, but then realized they were hooked up to the internet, so…decided that would probably be a bad idea

Isn't that sad...that things get to this stage? To the point of his kids not having internet connection (probably so they don't get to see the negative/rude things about dad - being so proud that he's on their fav. show etc)

(He confessed that the fans didn’t really “scare” him, just that he tends to be more timid when he’s by himself. He was afraid that someone would post a transcript of everything he said…oops.

Oopsie... but in a lovely positive way I'm glad he embraces it all enough to allow the DVD tapings etc. I see that Adam (Creation) mentioned in his blog that there would be one of this Con, probably mid 2006. I'm so there.

I envy you your 1st con experience Anya... glad you had such a brilliant time... you couldn't have chosen a better one to attend... virtually ALL the cast...

His response:

He started to laugh and said "Well, that's a first, I'm signing my own butt!" (What a generous and genuinely friendly person he is!). And a good sport!!

I have to agree with this sentiment... He's so grounded and bags of fun!

And, I was still in a bit of a daze when I stepped up to Fran's autograph table and gushed "Thank you for sharing Ben with all of us" (they did give up alot of family time to come be with us) and you know what she said?

"Ohhh, isn't he such a beautiful man?"

Isn't she gracious and appreciative of her guy's attributes? I think Fran's a fan!

Thank you all for the con reports, pictures and comments! As someone that never goes to cons, I love reading the reports [not that I'm finished reading all the links, yet, ...just wanted to check in].

I know I haven't been around - had a death in the family and then trying to catch up with work, and tomorrow it'll be holiday time - but I certainly haven't deserted my favorite thread! It's the only thread I've had time to visit, but I'll get back into the swing of things soon.

Man, she is so enthusiastic and warm that it's just a pleasure to talk to her. When she came to our table, she told us "Well, we've signed on to do another season of SG1." I just liked the way it was "we" instead of "Ben." She seems like his biggest fan and advocate, which is very cool. She mentioned SG-1 and asked if we watched. She said they needed more Mitchell, and we agreed. She also asked us if we'd watched the new credits. (They heavily feature Mitchell, if no one has seen them yet.) And we told her we liked them, and she said that maybe they would start to bring Ben up to the forefront now. During her talk on stage, she said that she was going to go to GW and ask for more Mitchell and that we should too!
