Sam Carter/Jack O'Neill Ship Discussion Thread

One of the things I love best about Sam is that she dresses appropriately for her profession. No high heels and skimpy tight clothes with gobs of make-up and hair product.

That's thanks to AT who risked her job so that the character would be the soldier and the scientist she was meant to be.

Exactly! If it wasn't for Sam Carter (and possibly Dana Scully) I'm sure I wouldn't have become a biochemist. I'm sure there are many young women who went into science because of role models like Sam. I groan every time I see a "female scientist" in many tv shows and films - they're usually either "ugly" or blonde, big-boobed and dressed like Sarah Palin! Thank God for women like Amanda.

Yeah, Sam is clearly straight, half of the controversy in Stargate fandoms is about whether she should have been with Jack, Daniel, Pete or another guy! But, again, people who don't really know the show or care about it will see the uniform and short hair and form a (wrong) opinion. For crying out loud, Sam has kissed Jack, made out with Jack, snuggled with Jack, tried to sleep with Jack, married Jack (in AU) got engaged to another guy then broken it off because of Jack...

Oh well, the Sam/Janet shippers will be pleased lol!

I can tolerate her being with two of the three guys listed. Though I see the Sam and Daniel relationship as more of a brother/sister thing. Do not speak of ! There is another that ranks up there, but I won't say his name!

Amanda has said at numerous times that many women will come up to her at conventions and tell her what a role model she is and how they've learned from her and used it in their lives and professions. High praise, indeed.

I have no idea what morticians wear at work when they are not dissecting bodies, but it always cracks me up when I see women medical examiners on tv at various sites examing dead bodies, and the lady medical examiner is wearing a business suit or low cut blouse and thin skirt and high heeled shoes, leaving me to wonder if that's what they were wearing when called to the death site or did they change into that when called out.

i don't ship sam and mitchell, but i think he's the only other man (besides our jack o'hunk) i've seen that isn't an insult to sam's character to have shipped with.
