Demons partial shippy moment - if you get your extra strength specs out. When they first come through the gate Jack (RDA doing his thing) does a IIRC Monty Python impression and Sam (AT being the giggler she is) laughs at it. I'm classing it as a shippy moment because the giggling made it into the final cut.

Good spot, nei! I think that is a huge reason why the ship works, you can't fake chemistry between people onscreen. It's either there or it's not.

Edit: He also sings Monty Python when Sam is setting up a portable telescope in one ep (I can't remember which one but I think it's season 6+) which, if you read the ship from it is *incredibly* suggestive! (He sings the last few lines of "Sit on my face and tell me you love me") - it's almost as shippy as when Scully sang "Joy to the World" to Mulder in the X-Files!

A high school friend of mine whom I haven't seen in years just posted a phone pic of her sitting watching Stargate with her feet up and a glass of wine - I assume it's a vaguely shippy scene because Sam is sitting at her desk in the lab explaining something (probably to Jack but you can't see who she is speaking to)

Edit: lol her bf implied that Sam is gay and I got a "like" for saying she can't be gay coz she loves Jack - shippers are everywhere! Mwahahahaha!

Guys. I have short hair, (Sam in the earlier seasons short). I like wearing combat boots, much to my mother's chagrin and unhappiness. I too have been asked about my predilections.

Meh, I get that a lot and I don't even have a pixie haircut lol! It's not that I hate men, I just have a low bs tolerance level and, as much as I like dressing up on occasion, I don't wear make up every day and live in jeans and tshirts.

My mum actually sighed the other week when she came up to visit me and she found out that I can't wear "pretty clothes and heels" to work because I wear a lab coat all day and heels in a lab are dangerous.

It's stereotyping by looks, this notion that a butch looking woman in masculine clothes and a short hair cut is lesbian.

Sam's sexuality is made pretty obvious from day one, trying to bed Jack whilst under the influence of the Broca Virus and then her previous engagement coming back to bite her on the ass. She has her butch moments but she's a soldier, its kinda in the job description to be that way.

Oh and that ever joyful 'I played with dolls' line from CoTG - another line that pains me to hear.

Yeah, Sam is clearly straight, half of the controversy in Stargate fandoms is about whether she should have been with Jack, Daniel, Pete or another guy! But, again, people who don't really know the show or care about it will see the uniform and short hair and form a (wrong) opinion. For crying out loud, Sam has kissed Jack, made out with Jack, snuggled with Jack, tried to sleep with Jack, married Jack (in AU) got engaged to another guy then broken it off because of Jack...

Oh well, the Sam/Janet shippers will be pleased lol!

One of the things I love best about Sam is that she dresses appropriately for her profession. No high heels and skimpy tight clothes with gobs of make-up and hair product.

That's thanks to AT who risked her job so that the character would be the soldier and the scientist she was meant to be.
