Sam is attractive, caring, smart...all those things that make her lovable...but not often "hot" as we see her.

Vala isn't so restrained by military rules and has, in part, made "hot" part of her survival plan. She knows how to use it.

Now, if Vala gave Sam some lessons in "hotness," I think the screen would burn!

Eh, I'd still say it depends on each viewers definition of hot. Sam might not have been as overtly sexual as Vala, but her confidence and easy charm are very sexy to me, whereas Vala is a bit too desperate for male attention, a quality that no amount of leather can make attractive.

I know, I know, that was not the topic but while trying to choose Boomer kept whispering in my ear!

Truth is I am only up to end of season 4 in SG1 so have yet to see Claudia Black in the show at all but I did watch FarScape 5 times through before my recent BSG run and while she was good in FarScape she reminded of girl friends that were too cool in using sex as a control method.
Truth is Carter, Vala; its like trying to pick the sexiest mid sized American sedan while ignoring the Porsches, Bimmers, Benzes and Ferraris screaming down the road just outside.

Who is hotter? Sam of course if she would try a bit harder and put on something nice. Vala is nice and manages to look stunning even in her uniform, but I probably would go Hannibal Lector on her after a day.

For me it's Vala. Sam is pretty, especially with some of the really short hair styles, but Vala all the way. (And I find her nose utterly adorable.) It's very much a personal preference thing. Blondes aren't usually my type for one, but I'm pretty sure "Crazy" is. >.>
