Just managed to activate my account: I hope this is the right place to get an answer to my question.

In an episode I can't remember, possibly from one of the earlier seasons of SG-1, Hammond asks an underling (not one of the main cast) to fix some engineering problem. On being told it would take 24 hours, Hammond responds with something like "I want it done in 12", then the underling says "I'm sorry sir, but engineering doesn't work that way".

That's as specific as I can be, but (for a friend of mine who is an engineer) I'd like to find the exact quote and the episode it's from.

    Any ideas?

Hammond: You know that's my car, don't you?
O'Neill: You should get that window fixed.

        It is from 'Solitudes'

DAVIS: We've almost replaced all the super conductive interface elements, Sir. The old ones all melted. It's going to take some time to load test them though.

HAMMOND: Just tell me the minute we can send a probe through.

SILER: That'll be 24 hours General, minimum.

TEAL'C: Captain Carter and Colonel O'Neill do not have that long.

HAMMOND: I'll give you half that.

SILER: No Sir, it doesn't work that way. 24 hours is the best I can do.

HAMMOND: Then you'd better get back to it.

SILER: Yes Sir! Come on, let's go.

Dr. Carmichael: [after injecting Teal'c's heart with adrenaline] That's not gonna work again.
Jack: I don't wanna see that again!

            From 'The Return Pt 2'

CETUS: What were you doing in the flooded sections of the city?

            O'NEILL: The backstroke, I think.

Mitchell: One more stupid question. Landry gives him a look Uh, yours was fine, sir. Mine was stupid.

[Carter and O'Neill are lying close to one another for warmth.]
                Carter: Sir?
O'Neill: It's my sidearm, I swear. [Sam starts to laugh] No giggling... please

                  Affinity

Sam: Teal'c, how do Jaffa couples handle their problems?
Teal'c: On Chulak, a dispute between a man and a woman that cannot be resolved necessitates a pledge break. It must be requested by one and granted by the other.
Daniel: And if that doesn't work?
                  Teal'c: A weapon is required.

Mitchell: So, do you... live here on your own?
Dr. Reya Varrick: Why do you ask?
                    Mitchell: It's a big place. I don't know. Just curious, I guess.
Dr. Reya Varrick: I thought that was your clever way of asking if I was married.
                    Mitchell: I'm not that clever.

Teal'c: The destruction of the hammer device in order to save my life may have caused this. If so, I am responsible.

O'Neill: General, I gave the order.

Jackson: I fired the staff at the machine.

                      Carter: And I... was there

O'Neill: I don't know the meaning of the word. pause Seriously, "impudence," what does that mean?

Facebook post about Alexis Cruz and the Audiobook he's done. If you're a fan of Alexis and his work - you'll love it. Book 1 and 2 are there now. The second one is brilliant, but I can't vouch for the first one (not having heard it), but I'm sure it's just as good, if not better.
