The Excalibar

This ship was built by the british.

It cruiser.(if it suppose to not have fighters, tell me and I will change.)


First commisson in the 2012. It designs took well over three years just to come to a agreement on. It would be the test bed for the most advance technologies.
The first ship would concentrate on the development of energy weapons and armour.It would also try improve the performance of the ion drive.

Also it would be the ship to incorporate a cloak into the ship overall design.


the ship was finally completed in 2025. Almost fifiteen years after it was first commisson. This ship was more advance than anything the American or russians had at the time.

Specs.

Size: 600 meters long
100 meters wide
90 meter high

Weapons:

The ship purpose was to incorperat energy weapons from the start.

1 large Plasma Beam weapon. This weapon is by the most powerful ever constructed by humans hands. It design incorporated elements from the ori weapon platform, the blue prints we were manage to obtained. It also manages to incorporate certain elements from the ancient satellite weapons, mainly the compacitors. These solved the problem of power supply. Thus the gun could only be fired every two minutes , why the compacitors charged. And when testing on the ha taks the weapon also showed of it ability for bypassing shields, although much of this was compensated for by the asguard upgrades of earth and ha'taks shield in preparations for the final battle for the milkyway Galaxy.

Two medium cannons turrets: These are a redesign of the above weapon. Each cannon contain 20 percent of power of the main weapon. They can each fire every thirty seconds or so. Most most captains usually rotate them around to fire every thirty seconds on each cannon. Although they be fired togeather, reaching some ninety percent the power of the main weapon.

Six defensive turrents: These are for taking out fighters and other smaller vessels.

40 Long range nuclear missiles. An two forward torpedo launchers, and two rear torpedo

This ship performed marvelous in shipped to ship combat far beyond most people expectations. In one such battle is won out between three daedlous class vessels. Although it was crippled when a fighter manage to fired of it four nuclear weapons.

It was then decided that to further enhance it combat capabilities it would be equip a further six rails gun turrets for their enhance fire rate.

Shield: It was equip with Asgard's shield.

Six Ion drives. Although the research group could not increase their speed, they already capable of speeds of fifty percent light speed,comfortable, when push 60 percent, although this can cause a overload, disable the engines.

The main advantage the scientist was able to develiped was the accelerations. It was able to accelerate far faster than any previous earth made vessels, achieving fifty percent light speed in less than two minutes, that three hundred percent faster any other earth vessels, and although this was still slower than asguard vessels. Who can do it in under thirty second, as one scientist said they are show offs.

Also a other advantage was the ion drive fuel efficency, which is a further thirty percent more efficent, although most other vessels was soon upgraded.

Fighter and Shuttles: The ship can hold four primary shuttles. They can also hold a further 32 fighters.

A combination of asguard and human sensors.

Cloak: It was decided that we should incorporate a cloak inside the vessel. The main reason for this decision was to enable us to launch long range scout missions. The cloak that developed was basically a puddle jumper cloak removed and then link up to the Asgard shields generators, this linked was design and built by the Asgard although they have not admitted it is rumored that the Asgard have reverse engineer the cloak and are currently using it in their own vessels, purpose for this is unknown and the Asgard have denied it. Reason for this is unknown.

History of this craft:

This craft only serves Britain space fleet for a year. Then it went missing on a long range scout mission, in a highly secretive mission to explore a region of space on the edge of the galaxy. Several ships went looking for it, it was not found, no wreckage, no black boxes, and no emergency call was made, nothing all traces of it was lost. Although officials say the fate of the vessel is unknown. After a capture of a trust operate, and some gentle persuasion, it was discovered that several trust operative was on board the vessel, although it was not known for sure some people always suspected that the Gould did not gain controlled over the entire organization, and infact it still operating today. Although this is speculation it is suspected that up to five operatives on board, which included the second in command of the vessel some how took controlled of the vessel and are using it for trust operations. This is further supported by the fact that several hyperdrive windows have been detected on the outer reaches of the solar system, but no vessels have been detected coming through, this all officially denied by. And all public records say the vessel was lost.

Although the prototype vessel, is yet just missing, the britain, decided that during all the trials and testing the vessel was to be put into mass production. A further twenty vessels are now in operations. To prevent any one taking the ship, all were equip with a secrete subspace tracking device, the only one who knew about the device was generals, and few engineers who fitted them and maintain them. They were not in any of the design manuals or official record of them were kept on the vessel. They could only be activated when a signal was sent from, earth. And it need the command codes from at lease five general for it to activated.

Well any suggestions and ideas which could be added I think is my longest post ever.

That not a problem, I like to see 2d designs and drawing, they so rare for people to do they sought of special to see. also you can also ask someone to model it for you, I could possible model it for you. pending n how much time have. I looked forward to seeing the design. I am also working on a much smother design for the aschen, their vessel will look ultra cool, well hopefully. Also I might work a upgrade to a shuttle which I posted on the original ship design thread. but more on these later.

Theres are lots more cruiser deisgns and they all look pretty good, I hope WTFowned posts his because otherwise it hasnt been entered lol. Even if he doesnt enter it for its designated cruiser class the ASIS is going to be the fleet somehow. I nominate it.

yours is a good size, but some of the others are abit too big to be cruisers i think...unless we're going to have 2km battleships in our fleet

We should set some rough guide lines for ship classes.
Like :-
20 - 100m = Corvete
100m - 200m = Frigate
200m - 350m = destroyer
350m - 500m = cruiser
500m - 600m = battlecruiser
600m + = battleship

N.B. these are very rough guidelines. I can change them as appropite. What do you think?

I would cll mine a Corvette, in fact corvettes are kinda civilian all purpose vehicles that serve as almost luxury, customisable craft. Which is exactly how i see the hermes. But its also armed to about frigate level so ive put mine in to exactly the right class size

For things like carriers and cargo transports there are no real limitaions. Just define them by Cargo they carry.
For Carriers say 12- 30 fighters are light/escort carriers, and 30 - 60+ fighters are fleet/heavy carriers
Assult ships should be along the lines of carriers just a predomance of dropships and barracks over fighters.

will there be a section for dropships/ landing craft/ assult boats?
