Im really not happy with using asgard generators, but ill concede on the centralised power source, scrap that. IF we use asgard generators for earth then what was the point developing our own highly advanced and capable naquadah reactor's? I did want to reduce our reliance on the Asgard, not increase it, that why most of our ships have our own retroengineered shields and hyperdrives. So we can develop at a pace that suits us, which is much faster than the asgard would like, and given what we have done on the backs of thier technology so far, i think they would be reluctent to continue down that road much further because we could be a threat to them some day. Itd only take a rouge political commander and a ship with thier technology and we could be a threat on some level, even if were allys. The construction facilities may be taken away once we rebuild and get set back up and then it woudl be down to us manipulating our beaming technology to do the same functions..heck we could just say we manipulated it ourselves. I just think the asgard giving us a little jump start would make our rebirth from the brink of total destruction a little more credible..

Mark VIII, its what powers the Gaia, its got 60% of a ZPM's output and is probley the most advanced naquadah reactor there has ever been, including those that anubis built for his superweapon thingy. Its the size of one of atlantis's piers which is about 500m by 200m...so deadalus size. Its huge and theres only ever been 3 built. The Prototype which was on Earth, one that powers New london and the one on Gaia.

Oh, then you probably wouldn't like the Maat Mons. It's meant to deliver troops as well as armored vehicles to a planets surface providing cover as they disembark.

All in all I think it is a good idea but your atlantis sounds like it could take the place of several maat mons, at least in the troop carrying area. If you want to look at it I think I posted it in the OSD thread. the model is in rough stages and not uploaded yet.

Mate i don't like to argue but...you do realise how powerful a Z.P.M is right? there's no way a Naquadah reactor could pump out 60% of a Z.P.M that's an insane amount of power and naquadah reactors have there limitations...i know you like the idea of such a powerful powersource but it's too much and it would make the ship too powerful in my opinion 10% (which may not seem like much) would be more than adequet easily more powerful than other generators we have and our enemies have...

I was thing myself of trying to enter a large ship designed to carry hundreds of troups but the idea is in my opinion too similar to the Atlantis class immohtep made...

The Maat Mons was built with multiple roles in mind since it was unclear where the majority of the battles would be fought. Due to its ability as a multi-role space craft it was shunted into a carrier escort role until a mission requiring it’s unique abilities comes up.

No i dont know how much a ZPM produces, but your right its alot. A Ion Generator from the Asgard can produce approxemately the same amount of Energy as a ZPM. Becuase an Asgard journey to pegasus is the same as our ships with a ZPM. Now a NIG produced 3 trillion watts of electricity, well it would have if they had let the video oncintues, it got to "threee trillion of your Earth..." so we can assume thats a rouge approsemation. Now we dont have an exactl figure for naquadah generators but considering the first one is a Fusion reactor which can pump out more energy than any plant on Earth then i would be somewhere in the 1-10 TerraWatt range, IMO.
So if we say a conventional mark I naquadah reactor can pump out 10 Terrawatts of energy. Then its later marks, in this case the mark 8. Let me give breif to the mark 8, its the most powerful energy source that has been created since asgard generators, it has 8 massive fusion cores, which are each 10000x the size of our mark 1 naqudah reactors in both physical size and what they generate. Plus our technology is so advanced in this field that we have ways of bosoting the extracted energy from naquadah. The Mark 8 can produce hundreds of pettrawatts as just part of its daily routine, the beam cannons are 1 petrawatt in "calibre" so that generator is capable of doing something that massive, and 60% of a ZPM is about 1200petrawatts...it might be able to crate that much energy...i might knock it down to 30%. But it can produce increadible amounts of energy, enough to run a half ancient and half asgard city in the pegasus galaxy. But we also had a ZPM in the city as backup or secondary power...
