True but people might get confused about who we're talking about. Besides you used the name first, and I probably heard it from someone when I was thinking my Alesians up.

I'm working on the specs for something I call the Jolt-Wagon. It's a transport ship that can fit through the stargate and hold some decent plasma weapons to boot. But I'm not quite finished with it yet.

i decided to update my trident class cruiser and after a while i came up with this -

desigination- cruiser/ light hyperspace capable warship
class name - trident

lenght - 295 m

4 twin 155 mm heavy railguns on dorsal centre line( 3 for ,1 aft)
12 40mm ciws railguns
2 30 missile linear missile launch tubes.( 1 dorsal port, 1 dorsal stb)
1 500mm mass driver on ventral centre line firing ordance up to mark 7 nuclear warheads at 1,000,000m/s
Godhammer orbit-ground strike system


power supply- 1 mark 4 naquada reactor plus 5 mark 1 naquada generators
propulsion- 4 sublight thrusters, hyperspace window generator, gravity wave network.
protection- 35 mm composite armoured hull, asgard shields, cloaking device
sensors- long range subspace comms, Argard sensors ,radar, infa-red/visual/gamma ray telescopes, 6 deep space probes , 3 predator UAV's.
ground units- 100 marines , 4 bradley apc's, 2 MLRS selfpropeled rocket launchers, 8 LAV's
support ships- 4 F302's , 2 A302's, 3 pj's/ valkyrie dropships, 10 10man escape pods
other technology- Asgard transporters,artificial gravity/dampeners , rings

history

This class of ships was deisgined by a joint anglo/american venture. deisgened to act as a multi purpose escort and rapid response vessel.The class was designed to act along side the Abydos class guided missile cruisers and the Henry Arnold class cruisers to form a escort squdron for DSCs or Battleships. The ship also had to be capable of high sublight speed and fast hyperspeed capibilty. The ships secondary role is rapid response and interdiction. To that point the vessel was designed to carry substantial araments for a ship of her size along with intergrated stealth technology, a sizeable groung force and a small air wing. Ship can also enter the atmosphere of a planet to deploy her ground forces . The Trident cruiser can also act as a mothership for unmanned recon/light strike craft ,this can consist of deep space probes to predator inter-atmosphere UAV's. She can comfortably take on Go'uld motherships or akesh squdrons along with wraith cruisers/ dart swarms.
The ships arour is made up of sandwiched layers of creamic , titanium, trinium and an 2 mm outer layer of inert naquada. This is combined with massive internal bracing and hydralic support rams . This made the Tridents reputation, during a battle the Trident was ambushed by a wraith hive ship and 3 cruisers , with its shields down and over 60% of the ships internal space open to the void the ship still manged to make it the 12,000 lightyears to Atlantis were it was patched up sufficently to make it back to earth in order to effect repairs.

The first ship the Trident, captained by Captain Dan Albert , the senior designer on the project a former Royal navy destroyer captain with a Phd in physics, was commisioned on May 24 2006 and despatched to the Pegasus Galaxy to assist the DSC Daedulus and the Orion against the 2 wraith hives on the way to Earth. As history now tells us the ship arrived to late to participate in the battle and now acts as Daedulus's replacement after it sustained large amounts of damage during the .The second ship the Apollo was comissioned on March 8 2007.
The trident escort acted as a test platform for the mac cannon that would eventuly be fitted to the Magellen class battle ship only on a larger scale

the godhammer orbital bombardment system constists of a titanium heat sheild encasing a carosel with 6 mavrick missiles on it. a paracute pull the carosel out of the heat sheild when it reaches aprox 80,000 feet. The large paracute allows the missiles to have a standoff time of over 3 hours . Meaning the paracute will take at least 3 hour to drift bellow 5,000 feet. the missiles when requested are dropped at terminal veloctiy until they reach within 10km of the target.Then the rocket ignites and the missile homes in on the target

Well..finally finished my latest ship. It's kinda weird. At first I was trying to make a ship for the French. I saw a picture of the Lafayette class frigate and thought it would be cool to try and turn that into a spaceship. I ended up with some really crappy thing..but I decided I would try and use it for something. So I added some more design elements from the Promy, Daedalus, Thor, and Abydos and moved some stuff around. And this is what I got. o_0

So the people who have seen it so far didn't like it..but I thought it was cool. It's my second favorite ship outta the ones I've made. I decided to keep it as an American vessel. So anyway..it's about 245 meters long.
