yeah i want them to have the feel of old age weapons without them being too much like a shield, axe etc

    ------

Just some things i was inspired to do after rewatching Gundam 00

the big ship is a merger between the Ptolemaios from the first season and the one from the second season with a few artistic liberties.

The other pics are of my protoype GN Cannon. the cannon is made up of 27 individual parts 26 of which are GN Drones and the other is the GN Firing Module. All components of the GN cannon are capable of fitting through the gate as at the widest point of the parts is only 15.5 feet.

We've seen in a few episodes involving a 303 or 304 that tablets are used for ship related things. Not to mention that the 302s have a wireless link to the ships ("SGA, The Intruder"). I wouldn't say use it for everything but you can't have EVERYTHING hard wired. It's just not practical.

All core systems can and should be wired. If you consider what is required to actually establish a secure wireless network then the issue of practicality goes the other way.

If you feel that core ship control requires extensive wireless ports then make your case for it, though you're going to have to come up with some very good reasons.

well in terms of battle damage, i'd say wireless is preferable given that cables can crack.

although i'd like to add a counterpoint in that, if you put all wiring near the core of the ship, should the cables break you're pretty much screwed anyway, and you should be at least halfway to the escape pods

The Enyalius is a Frigate used in a British Stargate fleet i've been building up for a while, which started with this design actually.

and the Broadsword is a ship escort ship designed to....well, be a ship escort to a couple of larger ship designs i've been working on.

This is the full fleet range
Are any of those like a warthog (i.e. flying gun). It seems like you could take an uberbeam with magazine, a sublight engine, an ftl engine, powerplant all in a tidy little package.

You're going to have a hard time getting a rail or coil gun rate of fire much higher than 300 rounds per second.

He says 1000 per minute not second thats easily doable with current tech, just not in a rail gun

Uh, I've been trying to export some Sketchup files into COLLADA files and then import those into Blender so that I could get a better render but every-time I try and import them to Blender the program crashes. What am I missing here?

                      what version.

i haven't tried the latest versions but the 1.4 series worked fine.

everytime i do however, my models get very big and very, very messy. up to 3x the vertices

I've only just downloaded and installed it so I guess it could either be a problem in how I installed it, a problem with my computer, or a problem with the program itself.

Do you have any suggestions on how to work this out?

We need version numbers of each piece of software you are using to really help.

If you are using blender 2.5 check that the features you are using have been implemented in that version. From what I understand a lot of features are still missing from 2.5 branch even through it suppose to be in stable release mode now. I b

Google Sketchup 8(I'm not sure on it beyond that.) And Blender is whatever they had up for download in the last three days(sorry I don't remember the precise version.)

                              that's 2.5b if i remember correctly.

yea not sure. you'd need to use blender, ehm, 2.4 or 2.3 to do the conversion. then open the file with 2.5 and you have it.
