C403 is being based on the 401 as the ‘Hercules’ of space. Basically it will just be an enlarged 401, with the ability to carry loads such as ‘Abrams’ MBT’s and similar weighted cargo, or a whole lot of troops and their gear. The only constraints on the design is that it still has to fit through the hangar opening on the 304's,310's and 340's.

I really like the Hercules of space, its a really great design, and it might be possible to convert existing hercules, or at least production facilities and make mass production for the 401 viable.
Its a pelecan from halo feel but that isnt a bad thing atall. Also it might not need to fit through hanger bay doors. It could have a hyperdrive, or mag clamped on to the outerhull. Theres also the possibility of creating a 401 carrier like i did with the Atlantis/TDS design. Basicly just a clamping system for say 12 401's with a hyperdrive, sublights, cloak/shield and maybe a small weapons array for defense.

Thanks dude, in the FanFic, Alx and I already envisioned clamping on the hull of the BB310 class battlewagon to almost double it's fighter capacity to 64, so it would not be hard to equip either the 401 or 403 in the same way. Although both ships do have limited jump drives

How would the pilots get into the ships if it's clamped to the outer hull? Beamed in?

As in a rescue module for subs, there is a sealed connection between the two vessels, that is closed by the crew as they either leave their craft to enter the BB ship or as they board their own. It is like a concertina tube with a sealable cover on one end, that's the best way I can describe it, in the real world, it is lowered from the rescue craft to the sub, locked and sealed to a matching hatch on the sub, and crew transfers then take place.

Simple answer(RINGS)
new crew is transported in as old crew is transported out(no clogging of tube)
and no need for extra support around hatch

your not seeing things m8 they are actually more oval and since i made that render the big ones have been shaped to look oval aswell

at first i though, ALX, "looks like a fancy 304". now, i believe, it is the BC-304 2.0. as if it's a more modern version, where all the newest technologies have been added.
