Well I was thinking of stargate and only stargate in this ship, two battle peirs are better than one on the standard daedalus, and for the 'nacelles', lol I had to google that to find out what they meant and no they arn't those

I've finally came up with something. although its not very good.

Hmm, well, I have Sketchup and Blender (though my .skp models don't convert to Blender well), and this is .skp, so unless anyone wants to convert it to .3ds for me then I'm stuck with either Sketchup exports or Podium renders. Neither of which have that "clay" thing. However, Blender does, I believe, have it.

Whoo! I can actually be of some use when it come to exporting and importing between Sketchup and Blender.

If you have Sketchup Pro then just export as .obj because .3ds is a crappy format, and buggers up your model when exporting between the two.
If not, then I would be happy to do it for you. I think I have got quite good at it, I managed to get a .skp to .max without messing it up beyond repair.

Well I found out the sketchup add another layer of polygons to your model when exporting, its called 'foreground' and if you eliminate that layer then your set with a pristine model.

It does, but you have to make sure you import it so it only groups materials, else it takes forever to eliminate all the foreground. Actually, you've just given me a good idea. *runs off to test new idea*.
