History:
The Legendeer-class was the first ship development from the newly emerged Legendeer Corporation. Initially developed to protect Legendeer cargo and merchant ships against the ever increasing pirate threat and mercenary raids. The first stage of development was equipped with coil-guns and short-range missiles, designed primarily to swamp enemy ships until the threatened ship could escape. This ship design was quite effective against the everyday threat of Tau’ri space. However recent events in Tau’ri controlled space has caused development to be pushed up. Development started on a larger more heavily armoured ships, the Legendeer-class was born.
