    A bit more done on the Phoenix .

    Some of the new details are inspired by the ancient Aurora class.

      I am refiting my Lazarus to be a Refit Battleship here are the sketchup shots, im too lazy to render it in lightwave so sorry about the look.

              I found that time, compunded with an eye for hull plating and symmetry make good for modeling, especially speed modeling, I have also been doing this for some time now so that might ahve an effect on how I model. Everything gets better with time.

                I have a sketchup question

                I seem to be running into problems when I do a shape like a rectangular box and want a beveled edge arond the top or bottom. I used the "follow me" tool but it seems to much up the very last corner nearly all the time. I have done it without error before but more often then not the last corner mucks up.

                Any tips.

                  This is a ship from the sci-fi universe i'm creating for a game in progress. Its inspired mostly by Battlestar Galactica, Stargate, and Halo. Any questions regarding the tech or details I can explain.

                  SC-117 Colonial Support Frigate

                  The SC-117 'Leviathan' is designed as a support frigate, a destroyer of sorts, accompanying either Star fighters, Capital Ships, or both into combat. The SC-117s are equipped with a versatile arsenal including offensive nuclear weapons as well as defensive anti-star fighter missiles, making them excellent complimentary ships to any fleet. However, the SC-117 is not exclusively assigned the role of support. In its own right the SC-117 is a capable starship with both Fighter and Gunship squadrons. Its fast and small enough to avoid salvos from larger ships.

                    Thanks Coco (Im going to call you Coco now, its shorter) I found that it is much easier to go and create another box on top of the one you want to bevel, an easy. First your should use the off set tool to make the outline of the next box on the face, then pull that face out and connect the corners

                      That half mirror surface must be one hell of a consumer too. But textures are real pain. (espesially to find good ones)


                      Those aurora details fit good in the Phoenix. I like.

                        I put a texture pack in to the modelling pack, if you have that, then theres about 40 texture images, many of them are pretty good.
