The bridge shoudl be in the middle of the ship behind thick armour. What your talking baout would maybe work as a control rower.

Why? If you mean protection that was just the wrong thing to say. Especially because the anicent warships had the majoirty of theirs made out of glass.

Not to mention the hump in front of the ship obscures teh view

it's praxcticality versus estetics, won't make much diference with an ori main beam, but i imagine it rather embarasing to have the entire bridge crew vacuum packed by a stray rock.

By the time the bridge can be hit with any weapon that means that the rest of the ship is also in that perdiciment. So if they take out the bridge it shows us that they mean business and they'll probablydestroy the rest of the ship. For the space rock thing, the have sensors that can detect that sort of stuff before it impacts the ship.

You might want to increase the size of your texture, that way the texture doesn't repeat as much.

Yeah for nearly all sketchup models i use the 500'x500' texture, usually looks good.
