The 'Dark Watch' Class ship was concieved by Colonel Charles Harrison as part of an effort to ensure the defense of the Milky Way in case of an attempted invasion from Asurans, Wraith, or any remaining Replicators. It is a Deep Space Patrol Ship, designed to spot incoming vessels and relay information back to the SGC. They are also equiped to take on other vessels themselves, and can aid in Boarding Operations.
The ships hull is made of a classified sensor blinding Trinium alloy. This is so the 352 can spy on other ships from a distance without being spotted itself.
The Prototype AI Unit (or X-AIU) was designed by Lieutenant Colonel Samantha Carter, based on some experimental designs in the Asgard Computer Core installed on Oddessy. The 'Dark Watch's' AI is nicknamed Arthur.
Four of the constructed 352s are stationed on the edge of the Milky Way galaxy, with 'Dark Watch' and 'Ontario' facing toward Pegasus and 'Xi-An' and 'Midnight' facing Ida. 'Guardion' is stationed at Midway Station between Pegasus and the Milky Way.
