I disliked Omac at first (BTW, his voice sounds strangely like Walton Simons' of Deus Ex fame, voiced by Tom Hall) because I found him very snooty and arrogant, but as time went on, I guess he had his reasons for being so "high and mighty". I mean even today in the real world, on Earth, there is still a tendency to thumb noses down on other cultures and try to interfere with their business (human rights aside).

Hey, on the bright side, at least we know the Tollan are accustomed to kissing too... although they're prolly all wiped out now, which is kind of sad... but ya know, maybe the Nox will stumble on a few bodies and bring 'em back to life !

I doubt the Nox would be able to help after this much time had passed, because when Nefrayu was killed by Apophis in the episode, Freya suggested taking him to the others for help, but Antean/Quark said that there wasnt enough time. There must be a limit on how much time can pass before its too late to save someone. Plus, there was something in Armin Shimmerman's voice that made me think that the Nox had seen a lot more of War then what they let in on. Like he said something along the lines of

There will be no more bloodshed

and when he said it, he kind of had this anger over soimething that dealt with bloodshed and pain.

Assuming that since the Nox were once a member of the Alliance, they would have to have fast starships like the Ancients had. So if the Tollans sent a message to the Nox homeworld, and the Nox decided to reincarnate a few of them, they could just hop onboard their ships and pick a few up.

Dark Helmet: No, it's not what you think. It's much, much worse!

Col. Sandurz: Prepare for light speed.
Dark Helmet: No, no, light speed is too slow.
Col. Sandurz: Light speed too slow?
Dark Helmet: Yes, we'll have to go right to...Ludicrous speed!
Col. Sandurz:Ludicrous speed! Sir, we've never gone that fast before. I don't think the ship can take it.
Dark Helmet: What's the matter, Colonel Sandurz...CHICKEN?!

What did Narim do? That's a really good question. I figured he was a science/engineer type since be was among the last people on the original Tollan homeworld and their job was to disable the gate. He always seemed to have a grasp of advanced science theories so maybe he was the Tollan version of Sam.

Yea, the only problem with that Sam analogy is that he made Sam in some respects look like an apprentice. But in other ways, Sam is just as bright if not smarter.

Yeah, just like Sam taught Thor and the Asgard a good lesson -- we can all stand to learn from each other.

That seems a common theme in the show, and I'm glad it addresses it so often and effectively without coming off as preachy. Also of note are the unassuming Nox!

Didn't he say in Between Two Fires he was Omoc's assistant?

Possibly (dont have the DVD near me) but I do remember him saying though that he also watched over Omac's health.

I'm not sure he 'did' anything. Frankly, the Tollan seem to just...be. He was a Tollan. I got the impression that they didn't really do specialism; he got on with the humans and had a thing for Sam so they put him on SGC liaison.

Aw, who knows what he *did*.. But I really got a kick out of that part where he'd programmed his house to speak to him in Sam's voice.

Sam: "Ah.. is that my voice?"
Narim: "I'm sorry. I was hoping you wouldn't notice."

Too bad the Tollans are no more. I thought they were kind of fun. They sure had cool clothes..

Well, we can only truly, honestly assume that they are no more. Even with wars, plagues, famine, there are always survivors.

On the other hand, planetary bombardment is pretty much out of human experience. The last time it happened on Earth the dominant species didn't do too well out of it.
