You and your friend are walking through the parking lot after a rain storm when your friend says, "We should go puddlejumping!" And you just burst out laughing because the first thing that came to your mind was Stargate Atlantis! lol
And then when you tell the story to your mom (who is a stargate fan) she says you are obsessive...
Sadly my friend has never seen Stargate...but I'm changing that....Sam and Jack Forever!

when you're talking to someone and they don't get something that you are quite well versed in and you explain it to them and your friend mutters "oh great! she's going into lecture mode" you make eye contact with everyone listening just to make sure they are actually listening all the while thinking "since when did i start acting like daniel?"I'm a Slasher. I slash. It's what I do.

...you start to form a tight group of true Gateheads because you know that the time is coming to separate out the true beleivers from the wanna-bees and you decide that the test of true Gateheadness will be wether or not the person knows the significance of October 28th, 1994..."The Clarke Postulate - One's ability to correctly explain advanced theoretical thermodynamics as applied to string theory within a fictional context is directly related to one's ability to cook the perfect lemon chicken with mushrooms in a nice garlic butter sauce. While some use this unexpected correlation as proof of intelligent design, I believe that its all about the person's choice of mushrooms.
I also believe that there is a tear developing in the space-time continuum which if left uncheck will allow Microsoft to become a world power. I suspect that unless we all download Firefox 3 on the same day, thus sealing the tear, that life as we know it may be over and children will have their teddy bears and blankets ripped mercilessly from their arms.

But that elimiantes anyone who CAN'T REMEMBER THAT FAR BACK IN THEIR LIVES TO KNOW, Like me. I was four that year, For crying out loud!! I never really liked the film either, I far rather the seriesSpoiler:Before you met me I was a fairy princess
I caught frogs and called them prince
And made myself a queen
Before you knew me I traveled 'round the world
I slept in castles and fell in love
Because I was taught to dream
I found mayonnaise bottles and poked holes on top
To capture tinkerbell
They were just fireflies to the untrained eye
But I could always tell
I believe in fairytales and dreamers dreams like bed sheet sails
And I believe in Peter Pan and miracles
And anything I can to get by
And fireflies...

I was 8, but I don't remember the film at all, though my Mam assures me she saw it and liked it (she's a Kurt Russell fan...). I didn't see the film until a couple of years ago. IMHO...it's really not that good. But maybe I was expecting too much from it having been spoiled by the series for so long!

But even if you don't remember seeing the movie in 1994, you can "know" the date, as part of Stargate History. (like I know the date of the Beatles first album, even though I wasn't born).
Well, I can't blame anybody, coz I didn't know what that october 28 was either
It's only natural to have a preference for the things we experienced when we grew up and feel it's better than what was before and what will come after... with few exceptions..
