And it came to pass that in time the Great God Om spake unto Brutha, the Chosen One: "Psst!"
Jack: You're so shallow.
Daniel: Oh please. Teal'c is like one of the deepest people I know. He's so deep. Tell him how deep you are. You'll be lucky if you understand this.
Teal'c: My depth is immaterial to this conversation.
Daniel: Oh! You see?
Jack: (to Daniel) No more beer for you.
I'm a little sad about how many votes Enemy Mine has been getting, both here and in the overall tournament. I mean... granted, Chaka (with his robes and apparently severe case of TMJ) was a bit... disgusting, and the plot was a bit contrived and the ending was kind of pat... but... but... that episode had the one and only good Jack/Daniel moment of the entire season! It was a single ray of light in the darkness, giving hope that maybe one of the best friendships in television hadn't disappeared entirely. Plus, it was one of the few episodes where Daniel was Daniel, and not some total stranger with huge muscles, a gun, and a die-hard attitude.
I totally agree with you there with the good pts that you pointed out, but Unas episodes have never been my favorite. Though as time has passed, I’ve actually grown to enjoy “The First Ones” and even “Beast of Burden” but “Enemy Mine” will have quite some way to go before I really care to watch the episode past the point that Jack leaves. After he’s gone, the rest is boring, imho, so I turn the channel. Sorry.
