It is not over. The OP posted again. I sunk to responding. I will say this, though: at least now s/he has other issues with the story so it's clear s/he's paying attention to what's going on and is thinking about things. That's great news in that we're not talking about somebody who is just hooking onto something in passing.

And please don't misunderstand - this person is otherwise generally happy with the story. Except for the darkness issue (and a couple of other minor things s/he'd have warned me against if s/he were my beta). I've been advised to do what I want, though, so...yay? At this point, I think I'm just pissed about the tone the whole thing has taken which is why I eventually responded. Of course, now I'm mad at myself for engaging.

At least it was civilized.

i once responded to a troll by calling him out on it... i regret it because since then i have had less reviews. planing to remove all response as i redo the chapter.

Amara--I have to say, the second comment does sort of seem to imply that they are upset over rape being seen in parallel to darkness. I honestly don't get some people. Like Lincoln said, "You can please some of the people some of the time, all of the people some of the time, some of the people all of the time, but you can never please all of the people all of the time. And some people are just idiots." I added that last part myself.

Color me completely confused. At first the argument was one thing and then it because something else. I mean, that frequently happens in internet arguments when someone is confronted with the necessity of defending their argument. If they can't, they change their argument. So I'm not sure if I should be paying attention to this person and they're not articulating themselves well or if I should recognize a troll who's trolling and just move on.

That said, there were several bits of that that came across condescending and made me less likely to play nice. That said, I think I played pretty damn nice considering the initial implication.

Yes: want a list ? I'll give a short and simple one, pretty much anything known to harm somebody I've done short of outright killing my character. Apparently Lake is a glutton for punishment
