Maybe that's why I was nauseated this morning and hacking up a lung.

They actually do take the DVR numbers into account. OnDemand and Amazon numbers come so much later that they're almost moot when you're talking about advertising revenue which is really what they're calculating when deciding to keep a show on the air. It doesn't really have anything to do with the quality of the show but with the amount of money they can earn by airing the show.
Didn't know about the DVR thing, but it's a shame they can't figure in the OnDemand and Amazon numbers, or give it more time. I wonder if that's what happened to Firefly...

Dang it! So I wonder if I'll be able to get the one fic finished before they cancel it?

That's the single most common side effect. Followed quite seriously by the same potential from the other end... You wanted to lose weight...right?

Firefly was a couple of things, but that likely had a lot to do with it (especially considering the HUGE following the show's accumulated on aftermarket media). The biggest problem with Firefly (at that time) was the airing of the episodes out of order.

If you don't want to get sick on the Metformin, maybe you should have a little something to eat with it when you take it. That helped my mom not get sick from it.

Oddly, I think Enlisted did that, too. Did you see the last ep yet--"Brothers & a Sister"? I noticed an incongruity in it.

I DO want to lose weight, but not that way!

I had it shortly after dinner last night, around 9 p.m. (got home late, not enough calories consumed, etc). I will try to have it actually with food, though. Thanks, Sparky!

Thanks, Scully. It was a bit of a shock, but not a surprise, if that makes sense? I kinda knew it based on previous blood work, but I was hoping for a miracle. Ah, well. It sucks, but at least it's something I can overcome and get off the meds. I was going for a lifestyle change, anyway.

Based solely on production codes, they're certainly not airing the episodes in the order they shot them in. But that doesn't necessarily mean they're showing them out of the intended order. A quick google revealed a couple of sources (like here, here, and probably most notably for your continuity issue, here - though I'll admit I don't really remember any other scenes with Derrick and Erin so this didn't jump out at me) that mention out-of-order airing but no major outcry like we usually see in such a case.

I dunno how old you are WW (and a gentleman never asks), but a good friend of mine was diagnosed with "bordering on" type 2 diabetes (He was around 47 at the time IIRC). He changed his diet to cut down on processed foods, excess sugars, fats and salt (the atkins diet essentially) and engaged in a moderate exercise program. He has not had a problem for nearly 5 years now with diabetes and feels much better in himself (according to him of course).

                      Just a passing thought.

EDIT: he also had high blood pressure, gone as well.

                        Spoiler:
Update on Mom: She's eating a bit, ate 75% of her meal the other day, with help, of course. I'm beginning to have hope that she'll be around until the Spring break to see her grandsons and I one last time. I don't want her to suffer, of course, but I really hope she makes it until after graduation for BB & for LB's last day of school (2 days after graduation). BB's last day is May 22, graduation is June 2, so LB's last day of school (and in middle school, they have finals the last three days of school) will be June 4. We leave for MD the following Friday or Saturday; still don't know what BB is doing after that, but he has a lot of options (just none really in our town--the closest is 45 minutes away). Taking off in a bit to make sure my car is ready for a road trip to New England.
                        Awww...thanks, hon.

Isn't it a kick in the ovaries when you write stuff without really trying that other people like, but when you are TRYING to write stuff to publish, you don't do as well?? Though, I guess there's something to be said about the fact that I was writing from the heart...

                        Spoiler:
Good news! Will keep sending prayers for mom.

This is what happens when I read Tom Clancy. He's the king of describing technical warfare thingies.

Hubs pours over the technical sections and I glaze over...and then skim them.

fun times. I have a rescue dog that comprehends my 16 yr old, but would probably be extremely nervous around small kids.

I'm old enough to have an 18 year-old. I'm eating as close to whole food as possible, as well as choosing brown over white when it comes to breads and rice. I'm keeping a close eye on my carbs, but also the sodium, and the cholesterol. Plus, I'm exercising 6 days a week again. When I get to MD, I will be joining a hiking club, going horseback riding, bowling, karate, yoga, or whatever else I can do to mix up the exercise.

Spoilered for stuff other people might not care about (unless you're just really into medical stuff…)

                              Spoiler:
If your endocrinologist will allow it, see if they'll let you start from a low dose of the Metformin and ramp up. All the research I did suggested that would really help with the symptoms. I started on the highest dose and was miserable and the doc/nurses wouldn't talk to me about options. So I ditched the pill and decided to live with the symptoms and subsequent fallout from prolonged, untreated PCOS. (I wouldn't necessarily recommend that course of action to other women for many reasons I'm happy to talk about if you ant to.)

Spoilered again for some blatant symptom talk that may be TMI for some people…
                              Spoiler:
That said, I was really sick. I had constant vommiting and diarrhea for a couple of weeks. When I was doubled over for one reason or another the nausea was awful. However, the *other* symptoms of the PCOS have been far worse and yet wore marvelously managed with est/progest birth control - specifically Ortho-Tricyclen - which also made my skin look awesome.
