This story was written as an answer to the 2008 challenge on the 'Tok'ra resistance' Yahoo group: Sam becomes host to Egeria in a very AU version of "The Cure". I moved the episode to third season. This has several advantages: 1) Egeria is not in as badly a shape, 2) SGC people, including O'Neill, is not as hostile towards the Tok'ra, as in later seasons, 3) Martouf/Lantash and Daniel are all alive. I believe that by third season, Sam has come enough to terms with her experiences with Jolinar that she would agree to become host in a situation such as this.

If it helps we've seen evidence the Goa'uld aren't completely heartless... The episode where Kianna Cyr Goa'uld behaves a bit Tok'ra-esque is good... and Ba'al was arguably only tricked by Qetesh because he had fallen hard for her/Vala.

Therefore with the Goa'uld Empire broken, and survival looking unlikely, maybe they'd submit to "almost Tok'ra" arrangements, using Tollan-esque collars. - You know since the alternative is genocide of a species which MAY have a slim shot of redemption...
