Just saying, I wasn't here before, but I'm definitely reading them! (back in Seasons 1-4 of my runthrough of SG1, I used to read every chapter acompanying the episode, it was great!)

So, there are enough "newbies" around here these days that I should point this out again. Once upon a time a bunch of us began to put together a Shippy Episode Guide. The Guide was based upon shippy ep reviews we were doing on the Sam/Jack Apprec thread a while back.

I'd be happy to update the site if folks find/have more shippy episode reviews.

On the self-serving side, a few folks asked me to put in the corresponding Campfires, so those are also linked.

Anyway...enjoy. I'm going to cross-post to the other list, too.

It's the last day of April! Can you believe it? I hardly can. It's been a busy month but I still found a little time to do some reading. So here we go...

The stuff that's suitable for all audiences:

• The Many Shades of Night by Sharon Nuttycombe - Carter and O'Neill are trapped alone in an ancient alien city with a horde of savage creatures after their blood.
• Open Window by bluemoonmaverick - Tag to Window of Opportunity. Sam goes to Jack's house to confront him about "the look." Just-for-fun one-shot.
• Handsome Pants by bluemoonmaverick - "Remember that time on P3X-595? You drank that stuff that made you take off..." Well, here's the story behind it. A light hearted one-shot, set Season 1, pre-Emancipation. Sam/Jack, of course.
• Out of the Darkness by Jackie W. - Somtimes it is only in the darkness that we can finally see the light.
• Eight Weeks by Jackie W. - One broken leg, eight weeks and a lot of misadventures lead to change for SG1- Complete!
• Twilight by KissHerJack (Gail R. Delaney) - General O'Neill gets ansty to do some Gate travel, but a natural phenomenon on another world causes problems and changes things...
• Dress Blues by fems - After a hectic day at the SGC Sam gets into a little accident and Jack ends up driving her home and helping her out...
• Together by splash_the_cat - Two friends, going to a wedding... S7. Spoilers: Torment of Tantalus.
• Breakable by Soleya - When Carter is critically injured on a mission, Jack struggles to carry on. This version is kid-friendly; the uncensored version is available on the Sam & Jack: Always & Forever site - the link is in my profile.
• The Long and Winding Road by Sharon Nuttycombe - Sam is captured by the Goa'uld while Jack is on Edora. Post "A Hundred Days".

The list I'm pretty sure some of you show up for ( ), the blue fics:

• Taken in Hand by splash_the_cat - Doing things the hard way. S9. This was originally supposed to be a sweet, fluffy piece. Then the porn showed up, beat up the fluff, and took its lunch money. Backup for the Sam/Jack ficathon.
• Turn and Face the Strain (Series) by NellieOleson - Jack had big buttons and she knew exactly which one to push; This was in response to a request for a fic set 12 years after Turn and Face the Strain
• Walking the Dog by NellieOleson - So, this was the first thing I ever wrote. Looking back, it's total cliche-fic and switches POV too much but it's still fun.
• Endurance Past the Point by magickmoons - A mission gone wrong leaves Sam in the hands of an unknown goa'uld. Can SG-1 get her back? And will she ever be the same?

And finally, the list of WIPs I'm reading that were updated this month:

• Five Nights in Nottingham by bluemoonmaverick - Harry Maybourne (a.k.a. King Arkhan) has gone missing in the mythical Sherwood Forest, and it's up to SG-1 to find him and the ancient treasure he is seeking. Jack and Sam struggle with their increasingly complicated feelings for each other along the way. Action and adventure! Humor and romance! Men in tights? This one has it all!
• Supposition by bluemoonmaverick - My take on how Jack and Sam might have engaged in a clandestine romance off-screen, relying primarily on episode tags and attempting to stay as true to canon as possible. The Conversion/Persuasion series, now all in one place! The series starts late Season 6 and continues from there. Rated M for mature content in certain chapters, as indicated.
• Cake by Heaven In A Wild Flower - Very AU fic. When Sam starts a new life, yet again, in a small Minnesotan town, the last thing she expects is to meet someone like Jack O'Neill. But when Sam's past starts to catch up with her, things take a turn for the worst. Can Jack and Sam's friends help her deal with new and old threats alike? Romance, fluff, drama and, of course, a fair dose of angst to top things off.
• At the Edge of Nothing At All by missparker - “While the Copernican principle comes with no guarantees that it will forever guide us to cosmic truths, it's worked quite well so far: not only is Earth not in the center of the solar system, but the solar system is not in the center of the Milky Way galaxy, the Milky Way galaxy is not in the center of the universe, and it may come to pass that our universe is just one of many that comprise a multiverse. And in case you're one of those people who thinks that the edge may be a special place, we are not at the edge of anything either.”? Neil deGrasse Tyson
• Soldier On by fems - General Jack O'Neill is bored with flying a desk and takes the chance to go off-world again when the opportunity presents itself. Not wanting to play favorites he leaves SG-1 behind with Carter in charge of the base and takes Ferretti and a diplomatic team with him. Of course, things don't go as planned and it's up to Sam to mount a S&R mission and bring them home safely.

I also have a version of the fic with all the photomanips made for it in their proper places available in a single zip file. The fic is formatted for my preferred reading style. In getting formatted this way the layout changed from when it was on Gail's now defunct site.
