Those two lines gave me more hope for the show than anything else, especially the second. The first shows that Rush isn't completely cold; no one is utterly wicked. Plus, it's a refreshing truth in these times. The second, however, is what really picks up on the difference between the two shows. BSG was an unending pit of despair. Someone died. Why? Because that's just the circle of life. SGU offers something more. BSG was grounded in Eastern philosophy; nihilism. SGU aspires to redemption, the same thing that made Season 15 so memorable.
(And yes, I've been gone for a while. Dreadfully busy, you know, but I'm always keeping track. )
