Almost four years ago, a rogue member of the Lucian Alliance drew the combined forces of the Alliance of Great Races out beyond the galactic rim, to a small, insignificant world that had long been forgotten. Ever since the disastrous Der'kal assault on the Nox homeworld of Velieris, the alien armada has been conspicuously absent, and the latest encounter with it only seems to confirm that a new plan has been passed down from the top. Winds of change are blowing, and not just for the war; humanity is likewise facing new challenges, as the refugee government known as the Free People of Earth prepares to hand power back to an international authority. But before this day is done, SG-1 will find that not all the pieces are quite put together, and realize that things, even now, are never what they seem.
