"That thing" is an apostrophe. And I usually don't like to fuss about it, because generally it's not the person's fault that they don't know proper English. I only get upset at English speakers who spell improperly.

your kidding right? i barely have proper grammar for schoolwork let alone for the forum. how am i supposed to know all the posessives and crap for apostrophie's.

Also people i think you should put in brackets or something when your being sarcastic cause its hard to tell it being a forum and all, and a lot of people are being misunderstood cause they are being sarcastic.

Still language teachers in my experience are either useless or you have alot of fun.

That's the sad thing about most kids. They won't work at grammar. I find it ridiculous. If you're going to use language, you should at least know how. It's like piloting a plane without paying attention to your instructor.

i am, but usually i type really long messages and quite fast. i personally think that on a forum, the difference between its and it's is not massive. when there are multiple options possible however proper grammar is required.

like, their, and they're. it looks the same but the difference is massive.
