Stargate Rewatch!

Hello everyone~
Probie here! I just watched the original movie this afternoon, made popcorn, and everything. I just watched disc 1 of of the ultimate edition. Is there that much of a difference with disc 2 (theatrical version)? If there is, I'll watch disc 2 this weekend. I'll finally get to watch my Children of the Gods DVD. I'll watch both versions of that one. I have SGA on bluray being delivered this week. I wanna see those now, instead of in may. I'm gonna have alot to watch lol

I know that a lot of the people participating in this haven't actually seen it all before, so is there going to be a policy on spoilers?

Generally speaking our "official policy" for GW is to treat it as a rewatch, and assume that most people have already seen it. So nothing like spoiler warnings on news articles or forum threads.

That said, I love the idea that some fans are joining up to watch SG-1 or other series for the very first time, so we should respect their desire to participate in the community event and still not be spoiled. So, for example, when you're posting on the Season One thread for "Solitudes," be sensitive about dropping Sam/Jack bombs from Season Eight's "Threads." At least put those comments under SPOILER tags and flag it as spoilery.

I've been looking around GateWorld for a few years now. And I decided to make a account to join in on discussions for SGRewatch. I love the idea, I need to watch some episodes I haven't seen in a while anyways. I might not have all the seasons. But I'll hopefully get the rest as SGRewatch goes on.

I don't know a lot about linking to sites, but I found these:

The main web site is www.sparkpeople.com.

From there, without joining, people can search 'stargate rewatch' and find the message board we're posting on. In order to post, people need to join, which is free. Once they join, they can set up a personal page and join teams, such as the Stargate team, and post on the board and join in the fun!

I'm so excited you like my idea. I love the thought of more geeks like me exercising so we have enough minutes to feel okay sitting down for this much tv watching, or exercising while they watch!

This is kinda cool... I noticed last night that there was an update for my Nintendo 3DS to install Netflix. I signed up for a 1 month free trial. Now I'm carrying Stargate SG1 around the house with me, wherever I go. The 3DS has a small HD widescreen, so the picture looks really clear.

Hello everyone!

I am a long time Stargate fan as I kind of grew up with it - from early teens that is. I am 24 now. I have not seen season 5 of Atlantis or SGU S2, and after seeing that Stargate Atlantis has come out to blu ray finally, I noticed this rewatch event was happening, that is awesome timing. I can re watch it with you guys, and talk about the eps in a way as close to discussing new eps when they aired originally. I had Membership here before under atlant3an but I have no clue what email address I used to register it, so have created a new name.

Hi everybody!! I also just joined a couple of months ago once I heard about the rewatch. I just recently (in May)finished watching all 10 seasons + the movies and I am excited to start all over again and join in the discussions. I am actually jumping the gun and gonna watch CotG tonight and browse thru the old episode discussions. Well just wanted to say hello and glad to be a part of one of the best scifi show rewatches.

It's official, I've decided to re-activate my GW account so I can join in the rewatch discussions!!

For anyone who is interested, I've started a new fanfiction in honor of the rewatch. I will probably be updating nearly daily. Each chapter will cover one episode (two in the case of two parters) and will consist of at least one journal entry from a Stargate character. I will make every effort to cover all major Stargate characters, but I do have my favorites, so unfortunately, there may be some biased coverage. If you do read it, please leave a review for the story to let me know what you thought. And if you mention that you heard about it on GW, I'll try to send you an extra couple of journal entries down the line. Here is the link for chapter one covering the movie.

Spoilers would be a major thing for me, even though I've seen all of SG1 because I would rather watch anew. I believe the best way to handle spoilers is to have separate threads for those who don't wish anything from later episodes to be mentioned, assuming there is sufficient demand for that. That is the only way I would participate at all because I have not seen everything. It's also the reason I've been here so seldom since 2006, spoilers.

At this stage i'm going to aim to keep it updated daily with small Twitter reviews and my own compendium with ratings for each episode. I was initially just going to do this for myself but i figured i might as well publish it in case anyone else was interested.
