Don't you just love it when a friend who knows you're trying to lose weight presents you with a very LARGE box of chocolates and a bottle of wine, just for helping them out in a very small way?
Yesterday has been a good and bad day. Went to get my yearly teeth cleaning (without any pain ) and had no cavities - YEAH! (the good part). But about 11 pm last night I also managed to fall down in my house - first time in a very long time. My knee joint slipped and down I went. However, I was unable to get back up because I fell on my shoulder and it was sore not to mention my knee when I landed on it. What was worse, I couldn't get up. I finally figured if I crawled (about 20 feet), I could use the couch to balance myself enough to get up - it worked. It took me one temper outburst and about 15 minutes, but I managed to get over to the couch and use it. This is the first time I ever felt helpless and I gave into that at first as well. However, I knew I would have to figure something out and I did. I guess I better go to the doctor's tomorrow and have everything checked out. I never felt so vulnerable before and I hated it. Thankfully, I found a way out (this time)!
Ouch! Falling down in our later years can be really scary, especially if there's nothing handy to help get up again I hope the doctor doesn't find anything damaged and that it's only your pride that's been bruised
I'm off to a wedding this afternoon - really hoping it doesn't rain because it's being held on a farm, which won't be much fun in the mud Fortunately the forecast is for a dry, sunny afternoon so I'm hoping that's right

Fortunately, with the light of day and a partial nights sleep - I am a lot better. My right side is fine, my left side hurts but is functional. A few bruises on my buttocks and hip, sore left shoulder and being pissed at myself is what is left. Everything had been going well - you knew something would have to happen to burst that balloon! But this too will pass. Going to have my knee checked out in a few weeks (specialist are harder to get appts. with!) and have a talk with a neighbor about keeping my keys. Other then that - this too will pass.
Ah, that sounds pretty good No point in being annoyed with yourself, these things happen
I have recently installed a key-safe at the front of my house. It means that if I need help and can't get to the door I just need to tell the relevant person what the code is so they can access the spare key to my front door and let themselves in. It saves me worrying because I can now get help if I need it
The wedding was lovely, the weather was perfect and the bride was absolutely beautiful And the children behaved very well whilst still having a good time
Funny thing - we were all ready to set off for the wedding: I'd gelled up the boys' hair and dressed them in their smart new shirts, trousers and shoes, and I was wearing this top which I'm sure you're all familiar with..............
..... but as we were about to leave I suddenly decided to get changed. When we arrived at the wedding venue the first lady I saw, yes, you've guessed it, she was wearing that ^^^ top! So glad I got changed - could have been embarassing
