Well it was pretty low again I'm kinda well...Maybe not liking Rodney, yet but if they keep this going the way it's been going then who knows

But i just wish we would not shout so loud when he's talking...Sorry but i get enough og that here with the adults shouting then the kids shouting and i have to shut the window and turn on the music to drown it out...The last thing i need is Rodney shouting most of the way through the eps I'm just sick of people shouting.....I'm not blaming Rodney....It's the folks here that i live next to...Every freakin day that's all ya hear...I'm just a little sick of it!

LOL, I still love these lines...

Teyla (To Rodney): I think you would make an excellent father someday

Sheppard: I've seen a lot of scary things in my time, but uh, that there scares me the most.

Indeed, Ronon explaining the multi-verse theory to Teyla was amusing.

This was the best episode I've seen in a VERY long time.

We had the team working together. There was no Atlantis to help them. There was no one to "beam" them out at the last minute, they had to use their own wits.

I really enjoyed the use of Teyla. She has been taking the time to learn technology, and it showed good development for her. She can help. . .but not too much. I don't mind the baby stuff. It isn't in your face. Don't want to see it every week, but now and then is okay.

Aliens were cool, and even though my first thought was BORG, they were different enough.

Everyone did well. We got a bit of Lorne and Zelenka, even Chuck! Really enjoyed the Ronon and Teyla talk about alternate universe "selves". They are cute, and I ship them as a couple in my head. They are natural and work well together, other than the forced triangle TPTB are trying to stuff down our throats in other episodes. Ugh.

It was also nice to not deal with Keller's squickiness. Give it an A-PLUS just for her absence.

When all else fails, change channels.

I like to break an episode into 3 parts, Characters, Plot, and Special Effects.

                Characters

The team worked together, we got some development for Teyla and Rodney this episode. Teyla was smart in this episode, and I loved how she stepped up to the plate and was aware with what was going on with the ship. She knew how to use the functions on the ship and it shows that she is just not this simple warrior now a mother person.

Ronon banging the keys, just in his character, lol.

The scene at the end was a nice character touch, and it added a lot of points, imo.

                Plot/Story

A good team episode with a very interesting and exciting plot gives you an ep like Daedalus Variations. I see so much opportunity for discussion here, and if this could result into future eps. Is this enemy around in Atlantis' reality? Will this techmology ever be built by the real Atlantis? The episode was not predictable and I know a few folks here complain about that. I loved the twist in the story that they had to go back and Sheppard once again sorta came face to face with himself. I did not think that was going to happen. I also did not know how they were going to get off the ship and I thought it was clever how they ended up. We even got a little darker tone when Sheppard's team see's a dead alterante reality team on the ship. Coming face to face with a dead alternate self is always a little dark in my book. This episode just had a Farcape feel to it, imo.

                Special Effects

The special effects were on top for this episode. Between the space battles, and the Daedalus entering the Sun's atmosphere, to the jumping of the Daedalus. I can see a possible award nomination for Visual effects for this episode.

That was a really fun, great standalone.

Teamwork! There was a nice balance of scenes between the four of them, and all of them contributed to saving the day. Teyla's proficiency with the Daedalus' systems was a little convenient, but believable - I can see her taking Marks up on the offer, and she's hardly stupid.

Some really good Rodney/Teyla moments. That relationship is the only one that I feel was underdeveloped in the first few years, and they started to do something about it last year, but it's good to see them really carrying on with it. Liked the Ronon/Teyla scene in the storage room, too.

The bad guys were very cool for a one-off episode, although I'm not sure I can see them as any more than that, really. Everything I've heard seems to be that they aren't, as well. I liked them having blinky red lights beneath their skin.

Small children and babies in television shows normally annoy me, but Atlantis is handling it pretty well so far IMO.

Loved Sheppard calling Ronon 'Chewie' again. That's the first time in what, nearly three years?

I think we all know it's natural awesomeness.

I didn't think the episode was bad at all, but for me this was definitely a "meh" episode. There wasn't a whole lot that stood out or that I'll remember later. Maybe Ronon bashing the console. That was a fun moment.

I probably alone in this, but I dislike when Stargate does "aliens" that are puppets or standard non-Wraith alien-makeup. I'm perfectly happy with their galaxy only having the Wraith and the ancient and human descendents. Anything else feels jarring. These baddies looked very Galaxy Quest. No thanks.

Also, I found it weird that the other Sheppard team just hung around on the Daedalus to die, instead of heading down to the planet in a jumper as they were getting weaker. You'd think at some point they'd just go off and live together on the planet instead of waiting to die. I guess we could fanwank that they didn't get a habitable planet below any of their last few jumps. But still.

                      I really liked this episode
                      Telya finally has a use
The only thing i found wierd was that they didn't think about disconnecting the power supply from the drive to shut it down.
Unless the drive and the powersupply are in the same housing that you can't open in time for the next jump.
But if they where two different devices then they should be able to basicly pull the plug or blow up the connection.

Any way nice episode i hope the others are also as good.

I liked this episode. It opened the door for the explanations why the Ancients stopped using the Gates and starships for time travel. This episode also reminded me of B5 using the station for time travel purposes.

It was good to see the team all together again. Other than that, I was bored. Too much Rodney ranting and babbling. Teyla was flat and conveniently proficient in using the ship's systems. Sheppard and Ronon didn't have a lot to do. Although the scenes where they fought side by side were great. I always love those. For the most part though, too much time watching people talk and punch buttons.

The team felt off. Like the lines were written for a generic team and our characters were just slotted in. Didn't feel like SGA.

Whoa, I totally didn't realize Keller was missing till just now Shows how much I think of her eh? I noticed right off the bat that Woolsey wasn't in the ep, but Keller... not even a passing thought till now! I definitely agree with you, tis so much better without her.

read the opening post for this thread: especially the part 'no spoilers beyond it'

In other words, please DON'R discuss next week's episode here.

Take it to the 'ghost in the machine' pre airing thread. It's off topic here, and it's rude to those that don't want to be exposed to spoilers, yet want to discuss Daedy Variations
